Modern Calligraphy: A Step-by-Step Guide to Mastering the Art of Creativity

Lovely little book if you are starting out in Modern Calligraphy as I am. Lots of ideas and sample letters and numbers to experiment with. I am a very recent learner and found this book very helpful.

Excellent book with easy step by step guides - granddaughter love it.

Great book . Just need to practice

This is my first ever Amazon review, but I loved this book so much I wanted to share my thoughts. This is a great entry-level introduction to modern calligraphy, which is clear, straightforward and helpful. It is well-paced, as it helps you build your skills through stages. The writer has a warm manner and it's generally a joy to read and use. I thoroughly recommend - I have bought it as a gift for friends already. The only downside is that some of the practice pages sit overleaf from letterforms you are practising, so you have to flick back and forth. I have bought a separate Rhodia dot pad for practice, as I whizzed through the practice pages in any event.

As a wedding planner I wanted to be able to offer calligraphy for small elements for my clients, such as last minute 'reserved' seating signs, or place cards and this book has been so helpful in learning from scratch and i've since gone on to do over 200 place cards! It has really clear well written breakdowns for each step, that are easy to follow so you can build up your writing style and skill bit by bit which I find really helpful and not too overwhelming. It's a lovely book and at first I didn't want to practice my beginner calligraphy in it's pages (as it allows you to do with blank guideline pages) as it's so nice, but actually it's a huge help as you can see your development and makes it easy to refer to the steps. I love the style of the writing too, it's modern and stylish so perfect for weddings and events!

This is a very good book for anyone wanting to learn this style of calligraphy. Nicely written and presented.

I ordered this as it stated that it was unmarked with no notes etc but the beginning pages of the practice sections are completely unusable for me as the owner has filled them already. This should better be described as having a few sections already completed. The delivery was prompt and otherwise I am satisfied as the book contains what I wanted.

This is a great calligraphy book

The book is lovely in content but it arrived so gross. Didn’t have anything to do with the outer packaging as it was fine but likely in the fulfillment centre. Like it was trampled on or used. I had to wipe the dirt off. Won’t purchase these beautiful books from them again unless I can’t find elsewhere.

Beautiful book.i don't think it needs blank page to practice but still good book. 読めなくても問題なく見本として使えるモダンカリグラフィの本だと思います。一文字ずつ練習できるようになっていて、練習用の余白まであります。道具の説明なども丁寧にしてありますがすべて英語です。

Good quality

Perfect for Xmas Stocking

Ein wunderschönes und praktisches Buch! Es sind viele Themen der modernen Kalligraphie beschrieben und finde ich als eine gute Ergänzung zum Lernen.
