Does the flutter device work if the person using it does not have a strong air flow ( not much puff)?

my husband was admitted to i c u for copd viral and bacterial pneumonia he was ventilated in a coma for five weekswhen he came out he was still at deaths door as an x nurse i looked for alternatives i lloked on websites then amazon.after 4 days he was a different person his mucus was relieved 8 months later he is back in work pt timeplease try this machine surgeons drs are sceptical as it is not a chemical from roche glaxo etcused correctly !!!!!!

Is it the same as the acapello devise?

The Flutter is for the removal of mucas only. Where the acapello is more like the device called power breath which is for exercising the lungs. The flutter does what it says it, you breath out natrally and it causes the lungs to vibrate. I think it is fantastic, as I have Asthma and Bronchiectesis. When I get a cold out it comes and I have not suffered with a chest infection since I bought it 4 years ago. Also there is a breathing exercise which I have been shown which is great for clearing airways ask your doctor about it. I call it chasing the crackles.

Could anyone tell me how this is used please?

You use it rather like a pipe but instead of sucking you puff out into it ensuring your blowing rattles the large ball bearing which is held within the cup. You should up to 5 times a day, with up to 15 puffs. Think directions for use do come with it and also your asthma nurse should be able to explain it. Do hope this makes sense. I have used one for about 5 or 6 years now, twice a day and my lung capacity has improved tremendously.

Whats the difference between the flutter and the gel-o-muc device thats also sold on amazon?
