I’ve tried a few solar lights and been quite disappointed. To be fair I think the expression “you get what you pay for” applies. Sick of lacklustre glow and short ‘on’ time I have tried one of these. I have bought another and that should tell you something. After a charge the standby time is a massive improvement and it’s bright – truly a spotlight. The build quality is very robust. You can alter the angle of the light and also the solar panel and when you do the mechanism is solid. Once adjusted make sure the solar panel is angled to get maximum sunlight. You get the feeling these are difficult to break as the plastic is thick and strong. (Unlike the cheap ones I have bought that snapped just pushing the spike into the ground!) Good news is that you can mount this using the screws provided if you don’t want to use the spike to set it in the ground. Upon operating this I realised I had missed the fact that it has a movement sensor mode. Now, I won’t use this, but I was impressed that it had this function and if security is what you are thinking, it works well. I found this out when selecting the correct mode from 3 options. And this is the only down side I found – you have to experiment to find the mode you want as there no indication, but with only 3 options it’s not the end of the world. You may think you have it sussed only for the light to go off when you move away... and back on when you walk back. It seems my solar spotlight had quite the sense of humour! The spotlight and solar panel are also waterproof – as you’d expect. Charging doesn’t take long but for the first time I’d try and give it a full day charge MINIMUM – just to prime the Lithium battery. I would definitely recommend these – Don’t waste time and money on cheap lights that don’t do the job. Yes these aren’t cheap, but there’s a good reason Hope you found this helpful. RECOMMENDED

I received my item on time and without problem. The solar spike is actually very good, initially i was a little concerned that it didnt work. but then i found the button on the back to switch it on dohhh. Surprisingly strong light considering it is self sufficient! May purchase a few more.
