The Most Fabulous Jewels in the World: Graff

Puff Piece, Indeed
I purchased this book new from a third-party seller, and boy, am I glad I paid less than $30. At that price, it is definitely worth having, but if I had paid over $100, I would be returning it for sure. Was any of the photography commissioned for this book?! As far as I can tell, there are mostly shots from advertisements and publicity releases.Buy this if you can find a deal on it, and want to have a quick reference to some of the amazing pieces that Graff has created; just don't expect it to be an exhaustive look at their work, or to provide more than superficial information about their operation.

Ther title of the book says it all -
This is Graff's collection of some of the most precious diamonds ever to be discovered. The book is huge: it has a very elegant size, the photos are very high quality and the treasures look quite sublime and alive. I am amazed how masterfully these professional photographers can manage to capture diamonds nowadays. They look phenomenal and so very crisp. You get to see every facade and edge, which is undoubtedly helpful to see some of the science behind it all... or just to appreciate their beauty in these diamonds' totality.Check it out if you admire great diamonds, the art and science of diamond cutting and shaping, and the Graff heritage in general. If anything, it also looks extremely stunning as a coffee table book.

Buy it for the pictures
True enough, as one reviewer suggested, the book is more or less a puff piece for Graff. That said, the photographs are beautiful and as the title suggests, the book does catalog a number of the world's most fabulous gems and you won't see images of these gems anywhere else.Lawrence Graff, is with the possible exception of Harry Winston, the most accomplished jeweler of the 20th Century. His story is also well worth the reading.I bought it for the pictures.Richard W. Wise. G.G.Author: The French Blue

Expected more .
The photos were fabulous the jewels breathtaking but not enough information on the man himself or the company. More like a photo album of the rich especially the sultan of Brunei.
