Reliable brand, good quality, sturdy durable and sharp. Bought for my Mum who doesn’t look after her tools, Spear and Jackson have fared very well, her loppers have been left out in all weathers and continue to cut well so this brand have proved their quality and resilience under extreme conditions! Fantastic value.

Spear and Jackson quality, robust and well-made,Sharp and cuts well - but not tried hedges, think they would be fineThey are heavy-, designed for edge cutting and long handles makes them heavy. As a woman I found them tiring to use and tended pause between 3-5 cuts.I chose because I want them quickly- arrived on chosen day. Taking into account heaviness a good buy..Suggest you wipe with an oiled cloth regularly - mine, left out overnight , has rust marks. surprisingly, and left especially if you are not going to use them for a while in the shed, they would soon become too difficult to open,

Nice shears easy to hold and use not to heavy

I am fed up with shears bending for no good reason when cutting shrubby growth, so I bought two different pairs. One pair were the Japanese Suizan, which are excellent quality except the blades are small, but these Spear & Jacksons are just the ticket, Nice and strong with very sharp blades of reasonable length.

The Spear & Jackson 8110RS/09 Razorsharp Hedge Shears, arrives in simple packaging. The shears have a great design, they are lightweight enough for long jobs but also sturdy. My wife says they are lightweight enough for her to use them without any issues. The blades were sharp. Excellent product and great price point. Highly recommend.

Well-made but heavy. Trust me, those who say they are heavy mean it, especially if you're a female. I'm rather disappointed, but they do provide a good cut.
