Plant Theatre Sparrow Loft - 3 Bird Nesting Terrace - Perfect Garden Gift

Good looking and well made bird box. Time will tell how durable it is but appears reasonably sturdy. Took the precaution of oiling the top as unlike the rest of the box it is bare wood.There's a copper strip on the top edge of the roof. Suspect this is more for effect though. It was hanging off at one edge on mine when it arrived as the brass tacks had come out. Easy enough to rectify.Only real negative, as other reviews have pointed out, is the tiny hanging loops fitted. I certainly would not rely on these if mounting the box 3-4m off the ground as the RSPB recommend. As I'm putting mine under the eaves of the house I've taken the liberty of using some decent fixings.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he was delighted. Robust and attractive looking, good value.

Very thin and fragile wood used to make this box - time will tell how it stands up to the weather. Also the fixings were very flimsy so ended up having to work out a stronger way of fitting the box to a rough stone wall - not easy when the bottom half of the back of each box is a door to give access to the interior for cleaning etc.But it's one redeeming feature is that it looks nice. So have put it up and will see how long it is before it needs replacing. At least it can be used as a pattern. It now depends on whether it attracts the sparrows to nest!

Lovely little terrace for cold sparrows,or tits, and so well made! We gave it couple coats of marine varnish, and love the pastel green on the front. Very pleased.

The wood used for the roof seems flimsy and untreated which will rot quickly in wet weather.A nice idea for a gift but very expensive for the quality of materials used.

Erected sparrow loft under the eve of my tool shed,looks great.Just waiting for the first lodgers. Expected at the start of spring.If I get over booked I will have no hesitation in purchasing another. Really pleased with the quality.

If you are buying this for House sparrows beware that the holes are too small, I had to drill mine out quite a bit to the correct size, even blue tits would find it hard to use these holes as they are, other than that its quite cheap and cheerful but easier than building one myself, needs to be seen if they use this, I also changed the hooks on the back that you would use to hang this box up, they are not very strong or secureUpdate, the roof has now curled up and off in the sun, complete waste of money , don’t bother

Arrived on time and was well packaged. Looks good next to the Bat boxes on my shed.Happy with purchase
