Rit Dye Synthetic 7oz-Sapphire Blue, Other, Multicoloured, 5.08 x 6.35 x 15.24 cm

Absolutely excellent product. I dyed three wedding dresses, to use them as cocktail dresses for a cruise. Two in sapphire blue and the other in smokey blue.The sapphire blue is stunning, the smokey blue is lovely but I should have kept it in longer as I think it's more greyish blue.Anyway, the process I successfully used was this -1. Using a 45l plastic tub (make sure it is PP-5 to resist heat)2. Pre washed the dress using my showerhead and a little fairy liquid in my hand, just spreading it lightly all over, rinse dress and then left it to drip dry for around 15 mins3. During this time I filled up the 45l tub, using hot tap water until half full then topped up with boiling water from the kettle. Fill the tub 3/4.4. Using very thick gloves so you don't burn, empty the Dyemore into the tub and stir with a clean wooden spoon. Once fully mixed, put the dress into the plastic tub, skirt side first then fully submerse.5. I kept the water hot by topping up with a kettle about 3 times, stirred regularly, lifting and moving the fabric so no areas sat folded for too long.I checked the colour every 5–10 minutes. Polyester needs time and heat, so I left it in for around 30–45 minutes, until it looked slightly deeper than my target shade (it lightens a bit once rinsed and dry6. Once happy with the colour I showered the dress until the water turned clear7. Leave to drip dry, ideal if nice weather but I had to do inside and left it hanging up on a hanger on the shower door (bath collected the dripping water).I've uploaded a picture of the dress I did for my daughter so you can see the results.

Rit dyemore is a very good product and works very well. Dye is in general an unknown quantity and how well it works depends on the fabric dyed, the quantity of the fabric and its original colour. If the fabric is coated or is of certain fibres even a synthetic dye will not penetrate it. This is not the fault of the product but the item being dyed. I have used numerous dyes on various fabrics and this dye works well on polyester and viscose.

Bought this to dye a short dress, thin long sleeve top and short skirt. There was enough dye for all three although it was a bit of effort to do as I had to split over two saucepans to have room to swirl them around. Time consuming and expensive and I probably won't do it again unless it's to save something I really love.Clean up any spills straight away as I had a bit of a panic trying to get the blue stains out my white cooker but it eventually came off after a lot of various cleaning products.

Great easy to use.. amazing resultsThe shoes were brand new white ones and that is a result from 40 mins in the dye and not as much water

Achieved a very vibrant blue on our formerly baby pink pram hood, followed instructions exactly used a large stainless steel stock pot on the hob and boiled for 40 minutes but 30 probably would have been fine.

Despite saying that the dye would work on polyester based fabrics it didn’t. It was a waste of time and money.

Überall im Internet wird ja immer gesagt, dass man keine Synthetik Fasern färben kann.Mit dem Zeug funktioniert es aber richtig gut - so wie es auch auf der Herstellerseite erklärt wird.Leider kann man das Färbemittel nicht regulär in Europa kaufen und es muss 'importiert' werden - deswegen die Bestellung über Amazon.Und so eine Flasche langt auch für relativ viel Stoff.Ich hab eine einfaches Sommerkleid (300g Stoff) mit knapp 33ml ganz gut gefärbt bekommen.Wenn man auf einen farbigen Stoff drauf färbt verändert sich das Ergebnis entsprechend.Auch ein Farbverlauf ist möglich - würde ich aber nicht für Anfänger empfehlen, da es sonst fleckig und ungleichmäßig werden kann.Auf Youtube und der Herstellerseite gibt es richtig gute DIY Videos. Also bitte da schauen wie es funktioniert.Viel Spaß beim Ausprobieren!Ist schon ganz praktisch - und man kann alles aus Plastik färben, nicht nur Klamotten oder Stoff.

Bonne coloration, très pigmentée mais attention aux frais de douanes, ils sont plus cher que le produits en lui même.

La tintura fa quanto promesso, il risultato finale dipende dal colore di partenza e dalla capacità di assorbimento del materiale oltre che dalla quantità di colore utilizzato.Ho seguito le istruzioni fornite (in inglese), il processo è abbastanza lungo ma dà ottimi risultati.Consiglio di usare guanti e mascherina e areare il locale perché l'odore è piuttosto forte.

Working wonders, used it on a dress 👗 it worked great! Color was beautiful. Gloves recommended, it stains. Very easy to use!
