BLACK VINYL FAUX LEATHER FROM THE FABRIC BARN , LEATHERETTE UPHOLSTERY FABRIC - ATLANTA by the metre

I bought a quantity of this to form cushioned pads, wrapped around cut foam blocks. It worked very well and provides a durable cover, easily kept clean. I experimented with different glues and adhesive tapes and found contact adhesive worked very well to stick this to foam and to itself -initially there is a little bubbling of the material as it adsorbs the solvent from the glue, but once the solvent has evaporated from the vinyl, the surface returns to normal, Duct tape was also useful in parts to stick edges down, This has a smart final appearance and I think would be reasonably strong for everyday uses, though it would not resist a sharp object at all -after all i was able to cut it easily with scissors, and the point of a knife or scissors would penetrate it with little difficulty. This vinyl faux leather was just what I needed to repair the center console/armrest in my car...it was great to work with and brought my armrest back to looking like new. The vinyl did arrive with creases that might present difficulties for some - it didn't affect the area that I needed it for, but had I been needing it for a larger area, it might have. I think it could be helpful if the seller provides an option to pay for the additional charges for sending rolled up in a tube (this would obviously include additional P&P charges on top of the tube).

Bought this to cover a centre consul I made for my car, the material looks the part, not too cheap looking and the finished job looked good, only one fault in that this comes folded not rolled so you get creases, this did not affect my project but I could see it being an issue for people that are using it for larger areas.

It arrived sooner than expected. Material seems of great quality, love the color. I used it for a bench in my gazebo. It is also the cheapest I found on the market. Will update in a few months to see how strong it is and how it does under wear and tear.

We have replaced the covers on the seats on our chairs in our conservatory where the black leatherette had failed. These chairs were bought from a big chain of shops and were guaranteed and insured. They wouldn't pay out so we bought this product and recovered the chairs ourselves. The chairs have been covered for about 2 years in this material and it still looks like new. The backs of the chairs have now failed so we have now bought more of this leatherette to replace that and I know it will look good and be far superior to the original. You can easily stitch the leatherette with an ordinary sewing machine. Very highly recommended.

This material was nice and thick and easy to use. It had a very strong plastic smell but that has faded with use. A shame it came folded rather than rolled as it was creased in places and won’t come out. Also had a sticky substance like glue in places, I assume to hold it in place when folded, which took a lot of cleaning off. No information or care were supplied. Wouldn’t buy material online again.

Bought this to try and re-upholster a VERY badly torn seat on my office-chair and to also add in a little bit extra thickness of foam. Turned out fantastic, even if I do say so myself. So very happy with this material. Very easy to manipulate and work with. The chair looks better than new now. The Faux leather is quality stuff. I just wish I had taken before and after photos to show it off.. ha.

Having 2 large dogs that like to jump up t see whats on the table my Kitchen table had taken a fair share of damage from their claws. Bought this to cover them up. Great price and came quickly, 3 days sooner than the earliest estimated delivery date, and was perfect for what I needed it for. Was easy to cut to size. One review I read said the fabric had a strong smell... which is does, but a quick wipe with a leather wipe and it was hardly noticeable at all. I imagine after a few days of wiping it down it will be gone altogether. The only down side of it I would say is that it comes folded up so has lines left in it. Not a big thing tho as these come out quickly with a cool iron. Would be better sent on a roll though. Or at least rolled for delivery instead of folded.
