Yes, a Nintendo 3DS would fit - that's the purpose I bought it for. Be aware that if you fill every cartridge compartment, the 3DS will not fit. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure that it would however what I will say is this case absolutely stunk when I purchased it and I never ended up using it because of this reason.

I’d say about 10-15. Some of the slots are too small to fit games in.
