I bought a new vehicle a month back could I use this as a preventative? It would save some elbow grease down the line.

the life span of your brand new vehicle’s headlights should be a good 2-3 years before they begin yellowing. This clear coat will last close to that time as well so either way it will have to be done again down the line. Since your vehicle is new I would suggest getting your headlights ceramic coated, or buy the product and apply it yourself, it’s not too difficult. I highly recommend Adams Graphene coating. Can these wipes be applied after doing any headlight restoration not just the 3M kit?

I use them with the Turtle Wax kit, so I do not see why they will not work after any of the kits. They just have some kind of UV protectant in them.

how often do you need to reapply?

Any product made by 3M is going to do exactly what they say it is going to do. 3M is one of only two companies I can say this about. Need for reapplication is going to be determined by initial quality of application, frequency of washing, exposure to sunlight, speed of driving in existing air quality and so on. I applied it to mine, following the instructions, about 8 months ago. The vehicle is a 1998 model and the headlights were very yellow. Now, the yellow is gone and they look great.
