NYX Cosmetics Eyeshadow - Base Pearl White

This is a great shadow base and after looking at swatches on the Internet it works exactly the same as Urban Decays very expensive primer :)I bought it in pearl as at the moment I'm really into the matte lips and and iridescent eyes thing. I am so glad I did, I used my nyx purple eyeshadow over it with a iridescent dark blue and it stays on like a treat!! Normally my eyeshadows don't last 1 hour!! I've not tried this particular eyeshadow without the base but I also found it kept the colour pay off to what you see in the pan and makes them look pretty. You can apply this up to the brow for a highlighter and possibly even other parts of your face. Overall it is a gorgeous base and feels so light and creamy whilst applying it! Arrived 2 days after ordering and I will be having fun with my eyeshadows! It's also cruelty free!!!

great product keeps shadows good for longer

Before I could decide to buy this eye base, i went on youtube to see some reviews. They were a bit mixed to be honest but I still went ahead and ordered it. I wasnt desapointed at all! Its very sumilar to one I had in the past from clinique (which was nice too but a bit more expensive) This one goes on quite well and doesnt feel greasy at all as I read in another review. It makes my eyeshadows POP!! quite happy with. I`ll give it a 4 out of 5 because I which it could be just a bit more creamier to go on the eye....

I have used this eyeshadow base a few times but i found that it cause a crease on my eyelid, so I wasnt very impressed

I did two tests; one where I used primer on one eye, and this basse on the other, and the other where I used primer on both, and then a bit of concealer on one eye and this on the other. In both cases the eye with just primer and the eye with the primer and concealer did better than the eye with the base. The eye with the base was actually more greasy and creasy, and the colour looked less nice compared to using concealer underneath after primer. I know concealer isn't made for that, but since it works for me (no skin irritation) and is nicer than the base, I will stick with it! This also made my entire eye area sparkly, which I didn't appreciate. You see it through matte eyeshadows. Lastly, after this two day test my eyelid on the eye I tested it on is slightly itchy and a tad red. Overall, not a successful story for me, and I will be returning the product.

Having used this as an eye primer, I find that I get a great pop of colour and sparkle to most of my eyeshadows by just applying a little product. As it has a somewhat creamy in consistency, it is a little difficult to apply.
