I find it impossible to convert litres to grams in order to compare value and thought I'd done well to find this for £11. Songbirds LOVE mealworms so they were eaten quickly; I kept the tub and found that the usual 500g bag I buy fills it perfectly. To recap, 3l = approx 500g dried mealworms. Hope this information is helpful to others too (and spoiler alert, the 500g bag was half the price!) In terms of quality, Supa always look very good somehow: big, shiny mealworms that don't disintegrate in water. This tub confirms that they are, however, bred in China. Finally, PLEASE DO NOT feed these to hedgehogs, like one of the popular reviews suggests. I only put them out in the morning to ensure they're cleared up before nightfall. Mealworms aren't just 'sweets' to hedgehogs; research has proven they cause debilitating, irreversible Metabolic Bone Disease as a result of the phosphorus to calcium ratio. Check The Vale Wildlife rescue's website for more info and xrays etc. A hedgehog can roam a mile or more each night, so they might be consuming a lot across several gardens. Please only offer hedgehog/cat food and fresh water to hedgehogs. More for the birds to enjoy then, too!

... And this brand won. I originally bought this brand back in January and the birds loved them! I have a window feeder with 2 compartments and the birds had a favourite compartment (the left one). So that emptied first. When shopping for a new brand, I saw a cheaper one (5L for the same price instead of 3L) that this one and opted for that. I filled the left compartment with the new brand and you can see a difference in the quality in my photos. This brand is on the right... Thinner and longer worms with less dust than the cheaper brand on the left (despite it having nothing but great reviews!) . What's more, the birds made a clear vote by not eating a *single* worm of the other brand, even though it was in their favourite compartment. They only went for this brand!! So I just bought another bucket of this brand for my selective birds!

Our sparrows love mealworms! We don't like to keep live mealworms and the birds can't seem to carry these away because they shatter with being dried. So I tried to reconstitute them in water. I put some in a heat resistant food safe container the night BEFORE I want some, pour over boiling water from kettle, cover loosely and leave overnight, then they're all soft again, then I drain water off and feed in a mesh dish. Don't use cold water, I've tried, doesn't work, they stay a bit hard still. The sparrows honestly adore them, can't get enough. This is especially good when they are nesting for the babies. The sparrows whizz them up and down their mouth like a mouth organ! So funny. It's a bit of faffing about for me, but worth it because of how much the sparrows love them done this way. I've only done this at nesting time up to now, but I bet they'd love them in the Winter months especially too.

Mrs Black bird- who is normally very shy- cant keep away! I serve them in warm water which plumps the mealworms up and probably makes them more palatable.

envoi rapide et soigné un peu moins cher serait toujours mieux mais cela reste correct comparé à d'autres. Mes poules adorent et cela m'aide aussi en cas de sauvetages de petits animaux. Satisfaite

Vraiment bien, il y en a beaucoup Date assez courte (reçu fin aout et bon jusqu'en juin) alors que je ne comptais pas tout utiliser en si peu de temps

Quand je lis les commentaires, j'avais l'impression d'un aliment miracle qui allait fondre comme neige au soleil, mais chez moi, les mésanges et les traquets motteux, en font plutôt un appoint occasionnel, il faut dire qu'ils ont l'embarras du choix (boules de graisse, graines, etc). Ce sont les traquets qui y viennent le plus souvent. Pour l'apport de protéines que cela peut représenter pour ces oiseaux, je ne regrette pas l'achat, l'essentiel étant de pouvoir aider les oiseaux.
