Helpful toothpaste that tastes good
We have been using this product for over a year. Love that I have finally been able to find a toothpaste that is truly 'natural' and does not contain any chemicals of which their use in dental care is, at best, not proven. This product contains xylitol, one of the few (the only?) substance that is proven to prevent cavities. The paste is clay-based and thus brown-grey in colour. While brushing it doesn't foam, since it doesn't contain foaming agents (which is good ;-). We find however that it has a nice feel in the mouth, not even that dissimilar in structure to conventional tooth pastes. We use the peppermint flavour and think it tastes lovely: both soft and refreshing, not an annoying hash freshness, if this makes any sense. The tube may perhaps seem pricy to some, but we used 1 tube for a whole year (2 persons using it, brushing once a day). We noticed no difference in our dental health. We were both free of cavities and have stayed so.

Classy looking
I am really happy with this toothpaste. I've had about 10 different natural tooth pastes foisted upon me by a health conscious relative, and have ultimately turned my nose up at them all due to the taste. This is nice, and the texture is smooth. The peppermint gives a lovely fresh clean smell very similar to conventional toothpaste, and the ingrediants list is very natural. I really like that the tube will stand up by itself until the very last drop is squeezed out, because I keep it in a small cabinet. It also does happen to be very classy packaging, and looks great in the bathroom, so if it does get left out, it at least looks good. Aside from trying this toothpaste due to its natural content, I was specifically looking for a toothpaste which didn't contain glycerin, as I began following a cavity healing diet - it worked! Its been about 18 months since I started using this. My last trip to the dentist was such a breath of fresh air - my teeth are in much better condition than previous visits, the two cavities had healed (dentist didn't seem shocked enough given that I'd had x-rays showing my two "urgently needing filling" cavities a year previously. Pfft!!) my gums were no longer bleeding when pricked, and she was complimentary about their condition. I imagine people looking up this product will already be familiar with organic foods, raw milk, homemade bone broth... if not, look it all up! :)

I kind of like it because it adds natural minerals in my teeth ...
I kind of like it because it adds natural minerals in my teeth which needed some sort of security as 3 teeth needed fillings,Most toothpastes lack mineral restoration, and has this no fluoride in, since I get a rash in the inside of my mouth from fluoride, and fluoride is known to cause flourosis of the teeth, when its dosage becomes to much for the teeth to bear, knowing that flouride is also in tap water. Whitening and hardening of teeth by flouride completes its function up to a point where the teeth decay worse than the build up of plaque, and often teeth get hammered by plaque decay and flourosis. This adds natural earth minerals back into into the enamal as well as any exposed dentine, and does not effect any existing. Though I am concerned about the prop 65, so i reduced to using the toothpaste in the evenings, and a plant based toothpaste in the mornings, to reduce risk and probabilities. The prop 65 is based on the possibility and probability of lead that may exist in the earth clay it is made from. When you think about it certain foods including Tuna have lead absorbed in the meat, and there is no prop 65 on a tin of tuna, from pollution, which is said could have also effected the clay. So i hope one day people would get themselves together and fix the planet, because of pollution.

Perfect natural alternative.
This paste is perfect if you find that foaming toothpastes make you gag, or if the strong mint flavour in conventional toothpastes burns your mouth. (Like me!) The flavour is pleasant and minty without that horrid burning. Within a week of using this my seriously bleedy gums have healed and now there is no more blood. I use mine with an electric toothbrush, and prefer to spread the paste onto my teeth with a clean finger first, of course this isn't necessary. I also noticed that a large abscess that I've had for months now has gone down. -Of course I do not recommend this as a treatment, always go to a dentist for oral problems. As far as the actual cleaning properties go, I find this works just as well as a normal toothpaste, and the lack of foam allows you to feel around with your tongue for spots you may have missed, therefore improving your brushing technique. One thing I will say though, is that the packaging states that there may be traces of lead in the paste and for this reason I choose to spit it out after brushing. This lead is naturally occurring in the clay and as far as I'm concerned possible traces of lead are less dangerous than the large amounts of fluoride purposely put into normal toothpastes. However it is important for everyone to make their own informed choices about the products they use.

EXPENSIVE
I wouldn't say its worth the PRICE. I bought it thinking it would be safe and non toxic yet on the back it says one of the ingredients is known as toxic to pregnant women in california. Not sure if thats just good honesty or worrying. There is no flavour to it really and when you put water on the toothpaste it falls of the toothbrush. Still a better option than the normal flouride toothpaste though but its not worth the price !

Unpleasant colour and texture
I really wanted to like this toothpaste as it's natural and contains no fluoride, but I just couldn't get past the fact that a) it's brown, and b) it doesn't foam at all, so I found it really difficult to clean my teeth with it. The taste is just Ok, but spitting brown residue into the sink isn't pleasant. I also didn't like the tiny hole in the cap that you're supposed to squeeze it through - it made it look like a bird had done something unpleasant on my toothbrush, and also it easily falls off the brush and into the sink. Will be going back to my other non-fluoride brand, which I much prefer.

After we were close to using up our first tube my teen son asked when we could get more because he didn't want to use any other tooth paste.... so we bought him some for Christmas this year... he was thrilled.

Very good product but the warning 65 in the label is scary and you can read what it means in the official website. I loved the product when i used first time but reading the label i just turn down. Here is what the website says about the warning: "If a warning is placed on a product label or posted or distributed at the workplace, a business, or in rental housing, the business issuing the warning is aware or believes that one or more listed chemicals is present. By law, a warning must be given for listed chemicals unless exposure is low enough to pose no significant risk of cancer or is significantly below levels observed to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For chemicals that are listed as causing cancer, the "no significant risk level” is defined as the level of exposure that would result in not more than one excess case of cancer in 100,000 individuals exposed to the chemical over a 70-year lifetime. In other words, a person exposed to the chemical at the “no significant risk level” for 70 years would not have more than a “one in 100,000” chance of developing cancer as a result of that exposure. For chemicals that are listed as causing birth defects or reproductive harm, the “no observable effect level” is determined by identifying the level of exposure that has been shown to not pose any harm to humans or laboratory animals. Proposition 65 then requires this “no observable effect level” to be divided by 1,000 in order to provide an ample margin of safety. Businesses subject to Proposition 65 are required to provide a warning if they cause exposures to chemicals listed as causing birth defects or reproductive harm that exceed 1/1000th of the “no observable effect level.”
