Beautiful oils with the advantage of being water soluble.
Gorgeous paints. Easy to blend to make a nice range of colours. Lovely finish. No smell so lovely alternative to traditional oils which require turps/ spirits. Not sure that water is enough to clean brushes but it is enough to paint. Very nice quality. Not cheap but you can't get quality otherwise. They last ages.

Perfect for Student
I am a student studying Fine art at ALevel and these paints are perfect. As the are water mixable the clean very easily and don't tend to stain my clothes(wash it out before it dries). the longest ive had to wait for it to dry has been 3 days which allows enough time to develope the gones in my paintings. These paints are perfect for students as they are a good level up from acrylics. And, like acrylics, they create successfull washes. I do however wish the selection would include prussian blue instead of paynes grey; it creates more depth with darker tones.

Avoid if you're fussy about the smell of paints!
I thought I'd give these a try as I've used most other media before, including oil paints (oil based) acrylics and water colours. Good range of starter colours apart from no black, as someone else has pointed out. But the minute I took the top off - the smell! I hate the smell of turps, which is why I thought these would be good, but I prefer that to the smell of these. I have so far tried the Titanium White and the Ultramarine. They mix nicely, and water is fine to thin them with. They cover the canvas board (already primed) well too, although the colours are deeper in the oil based oil paint ranges. I am waiting for this background colour to dry before painting the subject portrait ( my dog). Real shame about the odour from the paint though, and it continues until it looks (but isn't) dry. Right, I've now begun the portrait. These paints, and in particular the Titanium White, take a lot of paint for the same effect as oil based oil colours. The colours are good, and they mix together well. I haven't tried mixing them with oil based oil colours. Using these for a 2nd time, the odour is minimal. I like the effect but suspect they are more suited to people who like the "dollopy" effect of oils, or layers of the paint, rather than a single layer. I'm getting good results with using more paint than I normally would.

Lovely selection of paints
Excellent value for these very user-friendly oil paints. I have not used oils for years, I remember the smelly solvents and bother of cleaning brushes in the past. These are so much healthier to use and a lot less troublesome to clean up. The colours are a good selection and I am having great fun with them.

Love them
I hate using them because I don’t want to run out- smooth and versatile. Good coverage. So much easier than oil but lovely dramatic effect of normal oil paints

Pretty good
I love that I dont have to use turp - it gives a decent finish too and drying times are very quick. I feel that it doesn't have the 'depth' you get from a good quality oil based colour. It's more along the quality of better than average oil based paints. Anyways, the benefits still outweigh this!

New Watercolour Oil painting
I don't really do oils, but my husband does, but I do water colours and so far I have treated these much like water colours, I am enjoying learning something new, I think the colours in the pack are great as they all mix to make every other colour. Though an extra large white would be great.
