Q: Is this pet friendly? Do i have to sequester my cats until it's dry?

Q: What does it smell like?

I don't understand why people are saying the smell is bad and never goes away. I've been using this product for a couple years, and while it does have a scent initially (which I don't think is a good or bad smell, just neutral. Smells something like dryer sheets), the smell is 60% gone when I blot the remainder out of the carpet after letting it do its work, and fades from there to completely gone over the next 12 hours, at which point I have to stick my nose to the carpet to smell it. After a day or two, I can't smell it at all. My experience is with the Cat version, though. Maybe the Dog version stinks to high heaven?
