Trend Professional Countertop Scribing Tool, Perfect Joints & Contours, M/ECG01

Used this a couple of times to scribe the first row of planks (I'm a laminate fitter)Works well but on some surfaces the pencil hardly leaves a line, could try different lead pencils I suppose.

I purchased this Trend Perfect Butt profile marking and copying kit to use in my business when having to mark awkward shapes for electrical architrave and skirting trunking, this kit is all you will ever need not only for the use I bought it for, but also to mark and scribe any even or uneven surface that you wish to butt up to.I have so far used this kit to fit wood to a workshop bench that was screwed to a very uneven wall to secure architrave trunking with sockets to and let me tell you that if I had not used the tool the whole job would have looked a mess.I have also used this tool for home use to reline a floor with plywood in a bathroom prior to fitting cushion floor and both the plywood and the cession floor were fitted exactly but also the length of time it took me was reduced enormously.This tool has become another permanent part of my toolkit both at work and at home and it is another tool that you wondered how you ever managed without it, as it happens I have often made up pieces of wood with a pencil hole to try and achieve what this tool kit does, thankfully this kit does it a lot more accurately, it is an excellent kit and is highly recommended for a multitude of uses.

Great price for this product, it's well made and does what it's supposed to. My local trend stockist wanted €80 for this which is frankly a criminal price to charge. While I appreciate that specialist tools can be worth their weight in gold to tradesmen in terms of time saved and a good finish but €80 or anything near it for a few plastic discs and a pencil is extortionate and probably on par with the products actual weight in gold.Now that I'm finished my rant, the product itself and this supplier are highly recommended

There's lots of alternative tools for doing a scribing job but I found this one to be the most flexible. The only issue is that it comes supplied in a disposable lister pack so you're left having to find a solution to store the 5 pieces together.

After years of using blocks of wood, washers and other methods of scribing worktops and cabinets to uneven walls and corners I finally tried the perfect butt scribing tool. What a difference it made, the wheel follows the contour of the wall and you have the shape required marked ready to cut to. The result a perfect fit every time.
