Lava Lamp 2103, White Wax, Blue Liquid, Silver Base and Cap, Original 14.5 inch LAVA® Motion Lamp to Illuminate Your Mood

I checked out a wide range of lava lamps, and decided on this one, and I was not disappointed. It is a good size, bigger than many, and a lovely shape, not too thin. The colour is a lovely blue, with white wax bubbles. It is lovely to look at, and very relaxing! Things to note: it does not give off much light, so we don't use it as a lamp, we use a separate lamp for light in the room. It doesn't start working immediately. It takes about an hour for the wax to heat up, before it starts moving. The base of the lamp gets very hot, which could be an issue for whatever it is standing on. But I stand mine on a round coaster, which was the perfect size and perfect solution! I am very happy with this lamp, and would definitely recommend.

Lamp is great. Creates a nice ambiance in the livingroom. Takes quite a time for it to propelly warm up.

While the lamp looks great and is a good price, don't be fooled - the quality is poor and ours didn't last more than 6 months. My major concern with lava lamps previously has been repeated blowing of the bulbs. But I figured it made sense to get a cheap lamp and just buy replacement bulbs rather than buying a pricier lamp. Or not... After a few months of occasional use (probably around 4-6 hours, 2 or 3 times a week), the wax has solidified into a big solid lump that no longer melts or moves around. And both the green waxy lump and the blue liquid have lost their vibrant colour - both now look faded and washed out (the lamp has spent its life on a chest of drawers completely out of direct sunlight). Funnily enough the bulb still works and produces heat, it's just that the wax seemed to be completely unaffected by it! I note that other people have recommended shaking it to release the wax - that didn't work with mine. Literally nothing will get the wax moving again!! I gave this as a Christmas gift in Jan 2014 and it hasn't been working since at least May 2015. That means the recipient got only a maximum of 4 months use out of it. This lamp has spent the last 12 months being a dust-harbouring clutter ornament. In fact, literally last week we decided to just chuck it out and invest in a decent lava lamp with a halogen bulb and a one year guarantee. Honestly, I wouldn't waste my money on this again...

Worked great, the lava bubbles were clumped together rather than separated. The colour was vibrant however and never lost that quality. However as soon as it dropped off the bedside table it broke straightaway therefore wouldn’t class it’s durability as effective at all

I panicked at first because I thought they had sent the wrong colour but once it warmed up, it became a really lovely pastel blue and white and I think just the light with no wax moving was making it look like yellow/green wax. I absolutely love it and it’s pretty sturdy, the lamp actually sits nicely in the base so I have no worry it’ll topple over like some lava lamps I’ve come across. It only took an hour and a half to warm up and start working perfectly! If you’re thinking about buying this, just do it.

I have health problems so spend alot of time in bed and wanted something nice to look at. The blue colour is very soothing and it’s nice to watch. It’s a darker blue in person.

Really bad, dorsnt function like a normal lava lamp and the colors are not as described

takes a very long time to actually heat up and do its thing. I've had a lava lamp when I was younger and only took up to 2 hours at most to heat up and do its thing. This one sometimes I'll have it on all night with nothing happening. But can take about 4 hours to actually do its thing. But still a good night light for my son. Not too bright and not too dark.

Unfortunately the stand has arrived dented around the rim. Because of the location and the reflective quality of the metal stand it’s super obvious. I’ve tried pressing the glass in firmly to help shape it but it’s still looks buckled:( I’ll keep it on a high shelf.
