Does the job brilliantly and low cost 👍
👍I’m genuinely impressed with how effective they are at catching flies and other insects. They work really well in areas that are prone to flies/bugs and definitely midges.I like that they’re pesticide-free, which makes them a safer option for homes with pets and children. They’re very easy to use, just hang or place them where flies are most active, and they do the job. They really make a difference in the kitchen. The adhesive is strong and holds the insects in place. I also appreciate that they can be used both indoors and outdoors, making them versatile for areas like patios and gardens. For the price, 16 strips offer great value, and I’ll be set for quite a while. One thing to keep in mind is that the adhesive is very strong, so it can be tricky to handle without getting it on your hands or other surfaces. After a while, the traps can start to look unsightly, especially when they’ve caught a lot of flies. The adhesive loses its effectiveness over time, so you’ll need to replace the strips for best results.Overall, these fly paper strips are an affordable, easy-to-use solution for controlling flies and other insects without chemicals. They’re very effective at first but should be replaced regularly for maximum performance.

Low tech efficiency
We live in a rural setting and have one of those blue zappers in the house for dealing with the insect life that makes its way inside the kitchen. When the zapper died, we had a wait for the next one to arrive and so I bought these in the interim. Decades ago these were the norm for where we lived then which was in close proximity to a pig farm. You pull the thread and the sticky length of paper uncoils like a piece of unsavoury tinsel. Then you remove the drawing pin from the top to stick it into the ceiling or somewhere where it can dangle freely. They work. However, things like wooden window frames have been supplanted by plastic and so I used sticky tape instead to fix the things in place. These were an excellent stop-gap solution, but for anyone not familiar with them, the gloopy glue isn't something you want to make contact with and there's something a bit gut-churning about seeing the fly corpses mount up.

Very pleased - the flies don’t stand a chance.
Excellent - so many flies caught already. Very sticky so don’t forget where you’ve hung it and walk into it - the buzzing is unnerving. It’s quite tricky to pull out of the tube, so take your time unwinding it as you gently pull. Very good design which even includes a pin.Very satisfied customer.

Absolute rubbish
These tapes come in a cardboard tube. The instructions are to remove the tape from the tube whilst rotating anti clockwise. The tape does unwind but returns to a horrible messy sticky coil when hung. No attempt to uncoil works and you end up in a gooey mess. There is no fly attractant therefore the only way that this works is if a fly accidentally flies into it. The tape is very sticky and effective for catching flies if they fly onto it but hung for 3 days and three flies caught. Absolute rubbish and complete waste of money. To add to that, a box of 16 was ordered but the box was missing 8.

Very fragile, and prepare for sticky fingers!
They work okay once youve hung them up, but the pins to attach them to ceilings are built into the plastic caps. You need to pull the cap off very carefully because they're covered in sticky goo. I couldn't push the built in drawing pins into my ceilings, because they are hard plaster. After trying the first one with my fingers slipping in sticky goo I gave up. I drilled holes in my ceilings and screwed small hooks in to hang the fly catchers on. I hadn't read the instructions about rotating the container anti clockwise as you pull it down and ended up with sticky tubes for the first two attempts. Then one pulled away from its hanging ribbon as I pulled it down, covering me in sticky goo. It's very hard to get it off your skin! I stuck it back together and was sitting at my dining table when it fall off, landing on the table! What a mess. You find places in your home where they'll catch more flys than others by experimenting, The ceiling hooks are a good idea because you can put them in several places then move the fly catchers around to the places where they're most effective. Used with care, twisting them as you pull them down, they can work very well.

Full marks for a fly paper that really works.
Living in a cottage beside a sluggish river, flies can be a problem and we don't use pesticides. These fly papers are significantly better than others we have tried. Within a couple of hours we virtually cleared the kitchen of flies and midges, capturing perhaps 200 on one paper. Adding another, within a day we had upwards of a thousand flies dead, and feeling quite guilty about this mass slaughter! Really excellent result.

Didn't like
Some of the cartridges wouldn't open as the little piece of cotton that you are meant to pull the sticky tape out with would detach. Some strips were not sticky and some tore off before reaching their full length. They get in the way and I ended up with very sticky hands. The window traps I bought were much easier to use and caught many more flies.
