Why does the cable reel’s thermal cut-out keep tripping?

The thermal cut-out stops overheating when the cable is tightly reeled. Unplug devices, unwind the 10m cable fully, let it cool (30 mins), then reset if needed. Reconnect and try and stay within limits: 720W wound, 3120W unwound.

Do I need to fully unwind the cable?

Yes, always unwind fully for heavier loads. Using it coiled reduces capacity and may trigger the thermal cut-out.
