I just got my macrame kit in the mail. The kit is fantastic, and the shipping was lightning fast. Everything is exactly as described. The 3mm cotton cord is of excellent quality and clearly has four strands. The instruction booklet is also excellent, and it is useful to have a basic pattern to begin with as a beginner. I would absolutely purchase this kit again!

I made the keychain first and that was pretty easy. It's also relaxing, that's true. At least it is for me. Second I moved on to the wall hanging. I really wanted to use more of the muted colors (the gray and cream with turquoise), rather than each of those included. Sadly, there's not enough cord to do that. So I didn't finish the whole thing. I think I might get some more cream cord and complete it that way. What made it worse for me, is that the wall hanging they show in the book as you are going along with the instructions has so much better colors. Don't get me wrong. I like orange and pink. I even like them together in some situations. I just don't like them on my wall.I have done other fiber arts and I am a fairly creative/crafty person so I picked this up really easily. I do think that anyone could learn from this kit. I did end up looking up a video because the kit doesn't explain or even show how to proceed when you are doing the twisting knot and it starts to go around the back of the string....I figured it out without much issue. I just wish they would have shown that part.I would be open to the idea of getting this for a gift for someone that likes to do crafty projects or is looking to get into macramé.What would make this better is if there were a couple of options where the buyer could choose the color combo included or if the color palette was more cohesive.

I never got in to knitting or crochet - and thought I would give macrame a shot. The instructions were easy to follow and it's great to have all the supplies needed included. If you're looking for a new hobby in the new year to ease your stress, I recommend you give macrame a try. Lovely and affordable for the beginner or advanced knot tier.
