It's a smart and speedy little device. - All in all - VERY [pleased with this printer
It's a smart and speedy little device.Scans very well, good colour range (scan only, of course).Prints beautifully - crisp and sharp and tiny details are well preserved (unlike almost any ink jet printer)WIFI was a doddle to set up... a minor faff to get scanning working on the PC but nothing outside of normal for any multi-function printer. I unpacked the printer driver and just "add new printer" and told it where to look. The scanner needed the program to be run and install ONLY the scanner driver THEN you have to try to scan, it can't find it, tell in manually to go to 192.168.1.65.But after that, the scanning program finds it automatically (I use IrfanView for scanning)The printer keeps the WIFI all OK between laptop reboots and printer sleepy-mode. First print from sleep is about 8 seconds, subsequent prints are about 5 seconds (from [Print} on laptop to output paper in tray). It's about 2/3 the size of my Epson ink jet... so I have more room to move around it.I'd have liked to see an internal paper tray rather than the sticky-out one, but that's the nature of things - in-built is a bit dearer, as is auto-duplex (auto-duplex doubled the price!!)It's also a little noisy on it's first wake-from-sleep - heating things up, fans whirring, etc... but acceptable.... no noisier than a ink jet doing a head clean.Small niggles - like a firmware update having to be done via USB lead... why not over WIFI?And the supplied software is ... well.. let's say, "there's better out there for free"...The supplied toner is about a 500, maybe 700, page one - at 5%... so a few printed pictures knocks it down a lot, a printed picture might equal 20 pages of "5% coverage".- I have ordered a "compatible" toner, yet to try it.All in all - VERY [pleased with this printer. The little niggles don't remove any stars. Print quality is beyond reproach, even photos to grey-scale print.

Best printer I've ever had but difficult to install
Bought this as a replacement for my venerable old Canon inkjet printer. Now that I have it working, I am delighted with it. Print quality is good, noise is minimal and print speed is fairly fast. It is a good deal less frustrating than the banging and clattering that preceded printing on my old inkjet. A pleasure to use.BUT, connecting to WiFi was a nightmare. Using controls on the printer was impossible and the various YouTube videos are useless. WPS worked immediately but I lost the connection and WPS never worked again. The best solution was to connect to my computer temporarily with the provided USB cable and use Samsung Easy Printer Manager (provided software) to make the WiFi connection. The USB connection can then be removed. Easy when you know how!!!I found scanning easy to set up.I strongly recommend the printer but I wish that Samsung provided simple and obvious solutions to WiFi connection.

Recomended with some drawbacks
Bought this printer as a replacement for my ink multifunction device Canon Pixma MP560. After a few years of rare use, mostly airplane tickets, some documents and maybe 30 or so pictures it seems that the print head died. The new one would cost almost as much as this printer, so I decided to get laser, as I don't need to print pictures at home. Only printed couple pages so far, but the quality of them is good enough for me. I can't speak of realiabilty and costs yet, but I will try to update this review later. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't have proper cassette for blank paper storage. You need to open front door which serves as feeding tray for paper. So when I want to use it I need to load tray every time. My previous printer was little bit longer(from front to back) an it had a tray where I could load some paper and forget about it untill I needed to refil it, and it could do duplex printing automatically. This one doesn't do that.Smaller minuses are- no tray for prints(only small tab, that you need to pull out before printing)- quite tall- I had to set up WPS on my router to connect it to network as there is no way to select wireless network and enter password (maybe from windows application it is possible, but I didn't care to check it)- every time I printed from phone app I had to go to printer and press WPS button to connect with mobile app- subjectively - it's not the pretiest device I've ever seen, it could be designed to look betterGood things:- Laser - usually means lower exploatation costs (we'll see :) )- Quality of prints is very good, for home and office use- fairly quiet - the noise it makes when it's waking up is audible, but not very distracting, much better than my previous printer- prints come out much faster than from my last printer- built in scanner- mobile app to print from your phone/tablet

Great value printer
After years of buying cheap(ish) inkjets that seem to break down after a couple of years, having cost a small fortune in cartridges meanwhile, this is my first laser printer. Set-up was easy (apart from not being able to find all the 'remove and discard' bits shown on the set-up guide) and linking wirelessly to my router was also easy. I've been able to print from my tablet in another room, I haven't tried the 'tap and print' function but that wasn't my purpose in buying it.This scans, prints (envelopes as well as plain paper - the first time I've ever achieved this with a printer without it complaining and spitting out the stationery) and does exactly what it says on the tin. Prints are good quality and I hope this is going to last a lot longer than previous printers. Excellent value.
