Japanese Bath Salts Pressed Into Tablet Form
The media could not be loaded. Product: Japanese Bath Salt Hakugen Earth Hers Bath lab Assortment Pack 48 TabletsI use a bath additive everyday. Most of the time, I use bath bombs, but I will occasionally use bath salts. These are a bit different for bath salts because they are pressed into tablet form, which actually look like a shower steamer. They have a light carbonation while dissolving, but not nearly as much as you see with a bath bomb. They also sink to the bottom of the tub, so you only see a small amount of bubbles rising to the top. This is a product of Japan, and almost all the packaging is written in Japanese. I can figure out some things, like the different scents and that they are grouped into “cool” and “warm” categories. I can’t tell exactly what is in these bath salts however. Japanese bath salts can contain several different minerals, which have their own benefits. I’m left to guess what is actually in these, except for bicarbonate since they fizz. While I may not know the actual mineral benefits with this product, they are a lovely bath experience. The aromatherapy with these is wonderful. I could actually continue to smell the fragrance once they had dissolved in the bath water. This is often not the case. I liked the scents, which seem to be in the floral and fruity spectrum. The water colors are pretty as well. It makes for a relaxing bath experience for me. As with most bath salt products I’ve used, these don’t have much of a moisturizing effect, at least for me.

Carbonation Adds Some “Fun” – Scents are a Bit More Pedestrian
I am big fan of Japanese bath salts – especially because they typically offer more exotic aromas than American bath salts (which almost always tend to be either lavender- or pine-based). This is my first time trying a carbonated version of these Japanese bath salts.Essentially, these are big “Alka-Seltzer” tablets that you pop into the bath. And while the carbonation adds a little fun, that fun is very short-lived. It takes time for the tablet to dissolve while your bath is filling with water, so quickly there’s just way too much water to even notice the bubbles anymore, except right where the tablet continues dissolving. Frankly, I think kids would be far more intrigued by these big “fizzy biscuits” – for adults, it just slows down mixing the salts with your bath water, and there are really no lingering effects from the carbonation. Traditional bath salts (in powdered form) dissolve almost immediately – you just need to swirl the bath water – so there’s no waiting for the tablet to dissolve. The aromas in this collection are all nice, but also more “typical” – even more “Americanized” with scents like grape and apple and mint. To help you translate the Japanese packaging, I put together a visual guide of all 12 scents (see photo – and in case you’re not familiar, yuzu is a citrus fruit with a lemony-grapefruity scent). Also, these tablets have less color effect on your bath water than traditional Japanese bath salts, where the water color is as much a part of the bathing experience by combining a rich, complementary color with the aroma you’re enjoying.Bottom line: nothing wrong with these bath salts at all – they will make for many enjoyable and relaxing baths. I just prefer the more exotic aromas and colors of the more traditional Japanese bath salt sets. But the fizzy tablets do add another (albeit small) dimension to the whole experience. Just be certain whichever bath salts you buy that they are really made in Japan (as these are – see photo). Enjoy your next bath!!

More Like Bath Bombs But They Are Called Bath Salts
When I got these I though the tablet would break apart and turn into the normal type of bath salt I was used to. Unfortunately I wasn't right. They aren't really bath salts. They are really small tablet versions of bath bombs. They fizz and dissolve when you put them in water. The scents are okay but not the best. Overall they are okay but not what I thought they would be.

Enjoy a fragrant and soothing bath
Night or morning, these bath salts tablets will refresh you as they envelope you in wonderful fragrances while moisturizing your skin. There are 48 individually wrapped tablets in this pack in 12 different scents that come in a thin plastic tray. The labels and product information are in Japanese so I have no clue what the aromas represent but they do all smell good to me.Tear open the packet and place the tablet into the warm or hot water and watch it bubble a bit and fizz to dissolve -- changing the color of the water and releasing the fragrance into the water on lightly onto your skin. Then, relax and allow your aches and pains to evaporate. There are scents of fruits and pine but I really have no idea how to identify them. An English translation would be super helpful. When finished, open the drain and the water and salts disappear leaving your skin feel soft and smooth, not dried out, and the lovely odor lingering in the air.

Love most of these scents!
These are nice sized fizzy bath tablets. They are very fragrant compared to a lot of others I have used, I love most of the scents it came with. They are colored but didn’t stain at all which is always great. The price seems steep but you get so many of them that it really is a good deal. They only bummer is that I can’t read anything on these. Obviously I know they’re Japanese and that’s fine but just a tiny section of English would have been greatly appreciated.

Most of these smell amazing!
I don't really understand the hor and cold concept but most of these smell divine. My skin felt smooth and soft after using them in the bath. I've used them in the shower too as like a good smelling steamer thing. They are individually packaged and come in trays. I would say this is a god value for your money and would order again.Recommend if you love really fragrant and relaxing bath times!
