Rust-Oleum Metallic Finish Furniture Paint Silver 750ml

This truly makes old furniture look quite lovely , I have painted on old pine furniture as well and have fallen back in love with it . Takes three of four coats but the results are amazing and have just ordered another tin as going to paint my old pine bed !...a touch of silver glitter around the mirror on my dressing table adding a bit of glamour, thoroughly recommend and easy to apply. I love that it’s water based so if you spill a little bit , no mark left .I am addicted !

I had in mind to paint with this gold paint and cover with a coat of chalk paint so that when distressed the gold would show through.......but i did not realise that the mahogany wood, with its heavily polished finish really needed the chalk paint as a first coating in order to create an effective base....I now realise that it is important to know your wood so that you can make the best choice of paint finish. ........Rustoleum chalk paints are fantastic though !!!!!

I make picture frames and was looking for a metallic finish paint to finish off the frames. I tried one or two tester tins but was unhappy with the results. I then found a small tin of Rust-Oleum gold paint and the results are wonderful. Exactly what I was looking for. I also bought Silver paint but haven't used it yet.Very good results and excellent quality.

Renovating an old house and using this for lots of different surfaces. Works well on new bare surfaces especially mdf. Not so good on previously painted, but 'stripped to bare wood' surfaces. Really hard work on previously painted surfaces which have been sanded. Had to use 4 coats plus a touch up on these latter. Better on stripped paintwork if a primer is used prior to using this paint. Wonderful look when finally finished. Dries quickly and easier to apply than some other metallic paints I have used. Expensive (hence the 4 stars), given the number of coats required to get a good finish. Would recommend if you have a lot of patience.

Painted my daughters wardrobe, takes a few coats but covers well. Lovely solid colour when finished. Found it went on better with a mini gloss roller, just used the brush for detail parts.

I bought this paint to glam up some wood work on a staircase...well now painting everything gold! Need someone to take it away from me!! This is really good value for money, needed about two coats but a little goes a long way, have put on wood, metal, ceramics and glass paint applied well to all.

Love this stuff, I have bought three tins after the first job went so well. I’ve never painted furniture in my life but started out with an old IKEA dresser. Did three thin coats, working my way carefully, added some fancy new knobs (also from Amazon!) and it looks fantastic. Would highly recommend this product

I have only given this 1* because there was something off with the colour of this tin of paint. I buy this brand and colour often and wasn’t sure until I compared it to some other tins I bought… definitely not the same as previous tins and then these subsequent tins. Fine if you can use just the one tin for the one project but won’t be buying from this seller again as I need consistency with colour and projects I’m working on.
