I discovered this product some time ago and it is my go to as a substitute to traditional rice. It is so easy to prepare, just empty the rice into a colander, rinse, put into a bowl and heat in the microwave for 2 minutes. The plus side is that this product good value for money and low in calories. The texture is totally different from rice as it is wetter and it does not stick together, so is perfect every time. I should mention that upon opening there is sometimes a slight smell but once the product has been rinsed this disappears. I would recommend this product. Just give it a try.

So my main concern before buying was that some of the reviews spoke about the ingredients having changed and it no longer being low carb etc. I took a chance and was hopeful. The product that I received was the low carb version, so all was well there and this in and of itself made the product worth it.The smell isn't great, even after much rinsing, but for me, the trade-off was fine. If you cook things that are very mild, it may bother you, however I tend to cook ethnic food that is very aromatic and flavourful, so that this was for the most part not an issue as the residual smell was mostly masked.The product isn't rice, don't expect it to be rice. It is however, great for people like me, whose mind appreciates the rice-like texture. It can fool my mind into a certain level of satisfaction. Would absolutely recommend for people doing Keto or Low Carb, who miss their rice fix!

It does have an off putting fishy smell and taste of Nothing, rinse it well , then heat on the hob or microwave and it’s done in no time and at 9 cal and zero carbs per 100 grams, It’s helped me staying KETO especially for rice dishes cooked for the family And means I can generally have as well, it won’t win culinary merits but it is very useful for anyone on a KETO diet

Following a low carb diet and saw this keto friendly product and thought I’d give it a try. Amazing! I followed the instructions and emptied the packet and thoroughly washed the diet rice and then drained it in a very fine colander. Then I popped half a portion in the microwave and served with fried steak, and veg.Brilliant! Doesn’t have much of a flavour but soaked up the juice from the steak.Don’t write reviews very often, but it’s felt this product really did deserve a review. It was also very filling so great to eat to fill up on as only 9cals per 100g. I would say a packet is two portions unless you’re super hungry!

I got these in part to support my current Keto Diet, and while in concept they are fine, the fishy smell, unlike other brands, is utterly overpowering and makes the product almost inedible as a result.Much of the way we experience food is not just through taste but also through smell, so for me, that smell was a deal breaker and I won't buy the product again.First time use I opened the pack and was overpowered by the fishy smell. I have not experienced this to date with other brands to such an extent. I microwaved the product after rinsing, which perhaps wasn't the best option. I am wondering whether boiling it would dissipate the smell somewhat.If it does, I will let you know by updating the review!On the plus side, the texture is good and the shape good and a convincing looking substitute for real rice.

This is a great low carb / calorie option but requires a bit of effort! It's not as firm as real rice but you can make a great meal with it. What I do is rinse thoroughly under a tap in a sieve. Then I use a teatowel to squeeze out as much water as possible. Then it can either be microwaved or dry fried as required.My favourite option though is with a stir fry. I stir fry my meat and veg and use a splash of a chinese sauce such as hoi sin. Then in a separate pan I dry fry the rice to heat it up. Then I add an egg and stir it through, it makes a passable egg fried rice with a fraction of the calories.

Game changer if you are on a keto diet. Will keep you on track without having to make too many changes to your normal eating habits. Has a slight smell when you forst open it but dont be put off. I stir fry normally in garlic and herbs and they taste really good.

Absolutely wasted my money buying this. After opening a pack I had to throw the whole box away as it tasted like rubber. I couldn't even swallow one spoon of this. Looks likerice but is Nothing like rice. Didnt even taste like food!I wonder if the manufacturer eats this and feeds this to his/her kids.Very disappointed!
