I like that it is fairly tall and when I put a piece of long wood in there say 16 inches, it has enough room to fully split it most of the time. It has no problem splitting those logs into 2 inch or smaller pieces. Its also fairly wide at around 10 inches so you can put some large pieces in there. I usually use smaller ones I buy, but it would work well with wider ones.

I would recommend against this product. I wish I would have returned before the return date but we didn't get to use it until after. We have only had it for one month and have only used once,which it is already not splitting and coming apart.

Happy with my purchase.Only gave 4 stars on Stability. Reason is it will work better if bolted down (lag bolts come with purchase), but a don’t yet have a base to do that.I set it on hard surface and use while sitting on upturned 5 gal bucket.Works well as I had hoped. Nice kindling results.Solid construction NO assembly required.Happy with the larger opening to accommodate some larger split logs.I have my firewood delivered but lack kindling for starting fires in wood stove efficiently. This solved that issue.NOTE: This is for manual wood splitting.You have to manually work at it. It’s not done for you. Gotta put some work into it swinging the hammer. Works well if you split along the grain of the wood.I like it.

The splitter arm that should be sharp is simply dull. Useless.

Tried once and not thrilled about how it splits. Will try again when a get a load of oak.

This splitter was great for about 2.5 months. Then the welding for the blade broke off on 1 side.

This thing cannot split an egg.
