Painting in Acrylics: The Indispensable Guide Hardcover – 17 Oct. 2014

As an experienced painter for a great many years and of many subjects, no abstract, this book has proved incredible. Demonstrating ways of approaching all manner of subjects, from skies, sea, portraits through to animals still life and more than be described in this review. I mostly like the fact it does not concentrate too much on other "famous" painters/artists. But shows all manner of tools and how to approach anything. I sat and read half of it the moment it arrived! It is easy to follow, the author not talking down to readers, rather, willingly giving so many helpful tips with perfect, but not too many great photographs, but by way of keeping the book very interesting and superbly informative, and interesting. How to use brushes, the types and so on. Very highly recommended.

This guide to acrylics is probably the best book you're going to find on the market as it addresses every aspect of acrylic painting. It has been so carefully planned out, and thoughtfully written by a professional artist with years of painting experience. It's layout is very fresh and easy to navigate with pages of advice. It was the book I had been hoping to find and just wish there was a companion guide in every medium - it's so beautiful to read and follow. A real gem, and should be on every artists wishlist and shelf!!

Not quite what \I expected but it will probably be quite useful.

This is the most complete and comprehensive book on painting in any medium I have ever seen, it just happens to specialise in Acrylics. The author is veritable walking encyclopaedia of knowledge and extremely talented. The illustrations are excellent and the instruction very helpful. I have been inspired to get out the paint brushes again.

Have only had this book a few weeks but it is proving to be the best, most informative book on Acrylics I've come across. Clear, concise, beautifully illustrated and covers just about every aspect of Acrylic painting. Easy to follow guidelines and instruction on techniques. Would recommend to all levels whether beginner or more advanced. An excellent book.

I own a few books about using acrylics and other this is by far the most informative. There’s also a section at the end about information if you wish to present art as a professional. Highly recommended
