Q: Can you use 2-1/4 x 4 notched index cards with this?

The cards just sit in this box, you can use the notched cards, but the notches will not be used. Think of an old fashioned recipe box, that is how this works - the cards are not connected to anything. I was disappointed by this.

Sorry. I don't know the answer to that. I ordered it to organize actual business cards I receive from others. They fit perfectly in the card holder!

It is fit for 2" x 3.5" card size

The cover is permanently attached. Nevertheless, access is easy.
