Still searching for the perfect stylist...
After reading rave reviews for this product I was initially pleased with my purchase. However the rubber tip split after five weeks fairly gentle use and it was only then that I discovered that the replacement bamboo stylus tips that I ordered with the stylus were the wrong size ! It takes the 5 mm tips which seem to be only available from Germany at £15 for 3. The running costs for the stylus seem likely to be in the region of £50 a year. I must say for tiny pieces of rubber £5 a throw does seem extortionate. The other problem I encountered was that this stylus is incompatible with screen protector films.My search continues...

Quality, Useful and Durable
I ordered this as a replacement for a previous model that I lost, I was very happy to find it in blue rather than the normal black. Having the lid for the nib is especially useful as I primarily use this for my phone and it offers protection for when it's attached to my phone case. The nib itself is large but I am still able to type on a small onscreen keyboard with it. It doesn't feel as smooth as the older version at times as I do get broken lines when using it to draw, however this may be due to the screen on my phone rather than the pen, but I don't have something else to test it on. Overall I am very pleased with the Bamboo Stylus, they last years, I used a cheap replacement when I originally lost my old one and it fell apart in a week. Getting a Bamboo one is worth the money as it is of high quality and will last a long time, especially as you can also replace the nib once it has worn.

Hugely disappointing
I've used the original wacom solo stylus for the last couple of years wth my ipad retina and then with my retina mini.I was looking forward to trying the solo 2 as the nib is a millimetre finer and I thought the cap was a good idea..I use the drawing app Procreate daily and this new stylus just doesn't work. You have to press so hard with it that it is impossible to draw freely.The nibs on my original stylus do wear, I probably get through one every five weeks or so,using it pretty intensively, but the stylus is so good I think this is acceptable. It helps to keep the screen clean to reduce drag and use a light hand.Having to press so hard with the solo 2 is bound to significantly increase the rate of wear.I've always highly rated wacom products and before the ipad I used an intuos tablet for years.I don't know what the new solo 2 stylus is for or who it is aimed at.What were they thinking?

Flawed and expensive replacement nibs
Looks and feels beautiful, it even works quite well. However it goes through nibs like its on crack. I used the stylus for about a dozen sketches and drawings over around a week before the nib sheared off. I promptly sent back for a refund as i calculated that i would have to spend £80 a year on replacement nibs if they broke as frequently as the first one did.The flaw is with the design of the retaining ring for the nib. During use the nib deforms and is pushed back from the direction of travel. This causes excessive pressure on the point contacting the retaining ring with eventually weakens the rubber nib and shears through. The retaining ring has a very sharp edge that hastens this effect, If it included a small chamfer or a ring of buffering material at that point i believe the wear and tear would be significantly reduced and the rate of replacement nibs would be significantly reduced. I am certain that walcom are aware of the issue and have chosen to ignore it in favour of increasing accessories sales.In addition the replacement nibs recommended are for the older model and won't fit, You have to buy them from walcom and can't get firmer ones anymore.I recommend not buying this stylus if you plan to use it for regular drawing.

The usual top drawer quality from Wacom
Wacom know this field like the back of their hand. I use their products in my studio and personally and I have never been let down yet. The new Bamboo Solo 2 is a high quality upgrade to the original Bamboo Solo. The touch sensitivity is spot on and all my team use these to great effect on iPhone and iPad. The new Solo 2 has the useful benfit of a cap to fit over the nib to protect it when in your pocket or case.These Bamboo Solos are well made, stylish and very tactile. And contrary to what other have said here, replacement nibs ARE available. Just because Amazaon do not have stock all the time does not mean you cannot buy them.You will not be disappointed. We have not been.

Almost very nice indeed!
I bought this sytlus for sketching on the iPad. I've been a long-time user of Wacom's conventional tablets and styli, so I was pretty confident this would be good. The construction of the stylus was good, and it felt lovely in the hand. The fact that it was compact when closed was a big plus, too. However, when I tried it on the iPad, I found that it needed quite a lot of pressure in order to register a stroke on the screen, unlike another, larger and less precise stylus I already owned, which only required a nice light pressure in order to work. I ended up returning the stylus, but I was sorry to, as it was really nicely made, and attractive.

It works. Nothing special.
It is OK. Nothing special. Works on Google nexus.HOWEVER (and this is nothing to do with the stylus but a hopefully helpful note to those who follow) writing notes on a tablet is not as straightforward as you might think (well as I thought anyway). Resting one's hand on the tablet to write (as with pencil & paper) makes the whole process unusable.There may be other styli or other tablets that make handwriting on a tablet work, but this combination doesn't.This has not affected my rating as I don't think it's the fault of the stylus.

Impossible to drag anything around with this stylus
It is impossible to drag anything around with this stylus, because the touch screen keeps thinking it has lost contact with the stylus. But I have a FiberMesh Fabric Tip stylus which works great (albeit a bit inaccurate), so it's not my touch screen. I bought this stylus in the hope it'd be more accurate, but I can only assume it's small tip size means there isn't enough contact area to reliably maintain contact when dragging. This is with a Lenovo Windows 8 tablet.
