Good stuff
Very well thought out iron. Good steam pressure, removable water holder, hose is LONG! Makes it easy to iron without getting caught up on you board... Light and easy when pushing it about... As a man, who irons, it's bang on! (Looks Manly for an iron too....) right, enough of this ironing stuff, I'm off to the garage to do man stuff... :-)

Reasonable steam generator
After a run of Philips steam generators (the children disappeared the first ones when they set up home), this has proved a slight disappointment. It does its job and we’ve had no problems. For the current £139, it isn’t a bad buy, but anti-scale cartridges will add to the cost of ownership. The Philips machines we’ve used don’t need them, with a de-calc system that works easily and well (we live on the South Downs and have very hard, chalky water). We also love the Philips optimal temperature control – no need to adjust anything, and the iron can be left flat on the board. You’re unlikely to be disappointed with this, unless you get a dodgy one (some reviewers seem to have been unlucky). You can probably do better, though, for similar money.

Very poor quality
Iron lasted less than 18 months, only replaced with an inferior model

I like the surge of steam but find the pauses in-between ...
It took me a little while to get used to this steam generator iron as the way it works is different to usual (Tefal and Bosch for instance). Normal steam generator irons pump a big chunk of water into the boiler at once which means that you get surges of high power steam when the water is boiling but also lulls immediately after the influx of new water until this is brought up to boiling. I like the surge of steam but find the pauses in-between really annoying. However this AEG iron would appear to continuously draw in small amounts of water which boils instantly. What this means is that the steam flow isn't especially fast or at a high pressure but it is constant with no pauses. Once I got used to this, this iron has really grown on me. Sometimes I miss having a higher steam pressure or a shot of steam function but on the flipside the available steam is perfectly adequate for most ironing jobs and is continuous and fuss free. The pump is much much quieter than the usual steam generator irons and the start up time is incredibly fast, a matter of seconds. The build quality and design are all top notch. Thanks AEG for giving us something a little bit different.

What an iron/steam engine
Very good much better than your standard irons. Its lovely to use & the steam jet is very good only takes a second or two to pump it through & there's no shortage when it does, as far as ironing quality its excellent so far no hiccups well recommended.

Some pros and cons but worth considering at the current price.
This is not the best steam generator iron I have used but at the current (just over) half price it is worth considering. On the plus side it provides a continuous supply of steam rather than the intermittent bursts of steam provided by other similar irons. It is light and the sole-plate glides easily and smoothly over all fabrics. On the minus side it lacks the pressure I have experienced with other irons (most notably the Philips versions) which means that it hasn't got the same power to iron out wrinkles and creases. It doesn't have an automatic anti-calc (descale) function and requires a small cylindrical filter cartridge to keep the iron limescale-free. One cartridge is supplied with the iron but future replacements cost £18.99 for two. Not a bad buy but there are better irons out there.

Lasted 2 years...3/5/18 to 18/7/20
This is the second iron in just over 4 years which has failed to work just 2 months after the warranty expired! Can’t recall the make of the first one, but the current one is an AEG DBS3350 £79.99 new. The hot plate is not getting warm enough to produce steam.....water pours out everywhere! There are only 2 of us,so it’s not had that much use.......very very unhappy
