A wonderful and beautiful modern reference book for West African plants, allowing all plants to be accurately identified from just leaves and shoots with several thousands of beautiful and clear photographs and drawings of flowers fruits etc. Great for paleobotanists and students as well as I should imagine foresters. This plant guide works well even in Central Africa even though it is desgined for West African forests. It is probably a bit too heavy for lugging around in the forest all day long but its worth it for all the facts and species that are fitted in so hire someone else to carry it for field work. A CD version would also be nice. I hope someone will make guides like this for other tropical regions then we can all be practical botanists.
