Flagship Pomade Co. Black Ship Heavy Water Based Pomade 4oz

I have used multiple products, and have been very happy with Layrite superhold ever since I started using it a year ago. Since I need to buy hair product on a monthly basis, I started using other products such as Uppercut monsterhold, and eventually started using Black Ship. I was especially surprised with this product because it appeared to have a matte-clay-like appearance; however the recommended portion (dime-sized) gave a strong hold, while not flattening my hair. My hair is exposed to lots of heat and moisture throughout the day, but the product holds up just fine, allowing me to restyle my hair throughout the day without adding more product. As others have mentioned: the scent is very earthy, but it's better than smelling like chemicals.

this product is actually legit, moderate shine and excellent hold. yet the downside on this product is that you have to be patient on putting the product because it's not as fluid or soft compared to other pomades (or clay pomades). I usually use clay pomade and it's really easy tp apply but i just wanted to switch and try the pomade by itself. This product is vegan as well which is good for your hair. It doesn't possess any harmful chemicals like paraben.

Product is not as described. It is not a matte finish. It leaves your hair looking super oily and it has no hold. Also has a really bad smell. Very disappointing

Performance: 5/5 Works superbly, great hold and is restyleable like a oil base but not quite as greasy. Wash out: 4/5 Washes out with one shampoo and condition, hair feels as if no product in it. Some of the scent remains. Please note: conditioner is a must to wash out any pomade shampoo does very little. Smell: 1/5 A very floral smell that doesnt smell horrible but I dont like very much. The bigger problem is how strong it is! Seriously the smell is more potent than cologne. I put on 3 sprays of YSL Lomme and could barely smell it over this. Even after shampoo + condition there was some faint residual floral smell. Honestly this would probably be a 5/5 if it was unscented, but alas.

This is more of a clay. Its consistency is an opaque gray hardened paste. I used as much as shown in this photo. The product was not visible in my hair at all after about an hour, so this is more of a dry-look product. Definitely not for a rockabilly greaser look at all. I cannot place the smell, but it has a subtle organic,essential oil kind of smell. I prefer pomades that have a wet look, so this is not the product for me.
