Good with Anbernic
This is pretty much what I wanted it to be. Solid retro handheld.Tried loading ArkOS on a fresh sd card but couldn't get it to boot even after double checking my downloads and flashes.Installed Anbernic on a fresh sd and it worked great. I've got a couple thousand ROMs already stashed, so I was good to go. Already playing some great games!Haven't extensively tested it yet, but so far no battery issues.

Hours of fun
Easy to use right out of the box, came with some heavy hitters but, I chose to add more, the graphics where pretty good and the machine was solid.

Amazing metal feel, only lasts like 2 hours
The battery is toast, even if you charge it to 100% then let it sit for a day without powering it on it will just drain out somehow.Everything else is cool. It has a premium feel, all of the promised games, and a high quality display. Such a shame because it’s not broken technically, but I can’t really use it wirelessly anymore it’s on life support (needs to be wired to a power source) which defeats the whole purpose of a handheld device….

Came in an open box loose in shipping box.
ok. its very nice. but I'm pretty sure they sent an open-box used one. It had the OS card preinserted... nornal? the 2nd card was in a small container. and everything was loose and floating in around in the packing paper. no seals on product box. The foam bag I see in unboxing videos was missing. all that aside I really like it. I'd feel better about it if it didnt look dusty and used.

Top shelf emulation
This little handheld is pretty amazing.I previously had an RG350, but I found it lacking in a lot of departments, most notably comfort and power. The RG353M solves a lot of those issues. It's still a somewhat cramped little thing but I find it a lot easier to use than the previous model. It also packs a lot more processing power into a little package. It can't hold a candle to something like the Steam Deck for compatibility, performance and customization but it still does a really solid job handling platforms up to and including the Dreamcast and PSP, though those two systems are going to be pretty mixed on performance depending on what you're playing.Setup out of the box is a breeze, quite literally just charge it up and turn it on. It includes a second memory card you can slip into its second slot before bootup that includes a massive, very eclectic collection of games. The choices of WHAT they include are awful random with many games that are totally incompatible for a variety of reasons including no gyro support or the emulator simply not being able to run whatever game.Adding more of your own is a breeze, said memory card has a bunch of folders labeled by system and you can just drop your files into them. There can be some issues, like cue and bin formatted ones listing every file in the interface, but generally it's painless. It also includes bios files for pretty well every system, so you shouldn't need any further setup. Now, it goes without saying that their selling it with these files is hugely illegal on their part, but apparently no one cares. There are a lot of alternate firmwares you can install on the unit as well, though, they're outside the scope of this review, but suffice it to say that the process is pretty simple and there are plenty of guides online to help you through it. I understand that ArkOS is probably the best option to switch to, but I haven't done so yet as to not bias the review on what you get out of the box.Battery life is decent, you can get about 2-4 hours depending on what you're playing, it's not a HUGE amount of time but for a device so small and capable it's good. If you intend to not be playing it for a lengthy period, be sure to full power it down and not just use the standby function as it burns through about 1-4% battery per hour in standby, but less than 1% per day when fully off.Speaking of the standby function, that's a great side of it, so far I've been able to use standby to suspend any game I'm playing without issue and come right back to it more or less instantly. The display is great. Very clear and with a good range of viewing angles. This is one of the biggest failings on most handheld emulator devices, but they mostly hit it out of the park here. You will see some scaling issues in some games being that it's not a full native resolution to every possible platform but it's not an enormous issue and you can tweak the emulator yourself to use filters or different display modes to solve that if it's a problem for you personally. The touchscreen is reasonably functional and can be used when playing DS games, but you can't use a stylus so accuracy suffers. The hotkeys you'll likely want to know are that the F key on the top of the system will usually bring up a Retroarch overlay that allows you to tweak settings and F+Start+Select will usually reset you out of a game back to the main menu. There are some others but they're listed in the included manual, though it's pretty minimal and includes some poor translation. There are some native games in one of the menus too where to quit out you'll have to get to the game's own main menu and quit manually as the hotkeys are disabled. The joysticks, despite being small, are not at all bad, substantially better than the base Switch Joycon joysticks, comparable to Gulikit replacement joysticks honestly, and may well be those as it does apparently use hall effect sensors.Overall, it's an awesome little handheld. The price is pretty up there though and if you don't care about size I'd highly recommend saving up and going with a Steam Deck instead, however, if you just need a little thing you can keep in a zipped pocket or the like (do get a case though), it's on the upper end of what you can do.

Works but system freeze when put into sleep
The device works as advertised but quite buggy.1) When battery is drained, for some reason save file may not be up-to-date. I lost some game progress because of this.2) When you use emulator’s saving function, it may revert your in-game save file to past. For example, I saved my game using Emulator function at Time A. After an hour play, I made in-game save only at Time B. Another hour later, I accidentally loaded game save from Emulator save file done at Time A. I wanted to go back to Time B via in-game save, but that was gone.C) When you put your device to sleep, and then plug to power, it will not turn back on. If you have your device on sleep for long time (while battery is still ok), it will not turn back on. You need to hard reset power, then device will function ok. This is problematic when you just want to resume game quickly.

Really fun, looks great, battery will not charge
I had a lot of fun playing with this device. However, the battery stopped charging. The USB-C connector is very flimsy. I tried many chargers and cables.
