Cardiac Patients Should Perhaps Avoid
Slightly stressed is how I felt throughout much of this game. The lack of guns early on makes you feel very vulnerable but the funny thing is that it's often a terrible idea to use them even when you have them -the noise brings on a hectic swarm of nasties that will annihilate you rapidly.Glitches: I always encounter glitches in games and, given the complexity of many of them, have come to accept them - but I didn't encounter a single one in this.Gameplay: this game keeps you engaged throughout. The parcour element makes getting from A-B a thrill. There is no fast travel in this open world - but you don't need it or miss it as the areas are compact with no copy and paste terrain. Many open world games get a bit tiresome and feel like you're basically doing the same monotonous crap over and over again and for literally about five minutes in this game I was starting to feel a bit like that - but then BOOM - it got my adrenaline right back up there. The game cycles between night and day and at night survival becomes dead-damned-hard with a frantic sprint to the nearest safe zone.Graphics: I've never been hugely impressed by graphics but every now and then in this game I actually stopped to appreciate the splendour of those in this game.Difficulty: I always play games on the normal setting but on this game "normal" is as easy as the game gets and it's quite challenging.Story: The story is just right and the cut scenes are timed to perfection. It pulls at the heart strings a bit. Ads for the game said that player decisions affect outcomes but I didn't see or feel much in the way of any decisions that would have any effect on the game (possibly the only element of this is where one might decide to save a randomer which results in one missing a random air drop - having said that - one's own struggle for survival is such that you're better off leaving randomers to their fate).Games I've loved are the Fallout series & Skyrim. I found The Witcher 3 rather dull, repetitive, & hard to finish with a lot of copy & paste landscape that one had to spend half one's play time traversing. I also found the gameplay rather clinical, forced, & lacking in fluidity. I included the above as I often find reviews more helpful if the reviewer indicates that they like/dislike the same games I like.Anyway - this is a thrill ride of a game. I say this even though it gave me nightmares.

Just get it.
Excellent game. Tense, exciting, bloodthirsty and sometimes terrifying, is exactly how i would describe this game.If your not using parkour to run along the edge of a highrise whilst escaping the (28 days later inspired) running and climbing rage zombies. Then next you'll be speed running and shooting through a huge dark sewer to escape the monstrous creatures that lurk the in the darkness. You'll complete all that just in time to get in a gun battle or sword fight with 5 bandits over air dropped medical supplies on a collapsed bridge. All these situations will happen to you plus hundreds more awesome ones. The co'op multiplayer makes it even better as it sticks to the storyline even with 4 of you."The Following" dlc is also the best and most value for money dlc you'll find outside of a Bethesda/Rockstar game. Adding a giant new map, tonnes of new weapons, missions and characters. Best if all though.... Vehicles.Just get this game. I don't really like zombies movies or games and i still loved and indeed love every minute of this game.

The only way to Zombie
Let's be up front and clear right from the off - I'm an 'Old Age Playstationer' and I cut my teeth on the Amiga 500 in the 80's and owned the PS1 right through to my current PS4. I've played many, many games and spent (wasted?) many hours in my own digital solitary confinement - and a lot of the time it was bliss. But times are changing. Engaging gameplay is being replaced by more elaborate and engaging prettiness and high resolution graphics. And... well, I've always found the whole zombie genre boringly formulaic and old hat. The same old gameplay with newer ways of dispatching body parts. It's just a feast of gore with a side of the eeby-geebies.So why am I even bothering to comment on this title - and hang on a minute. I've bought it as well!Okay, my hands are held up and I submit to you that if there was ever one zombie game you might wish to try, it's this one.First, the environment - it's beautifully realised with mostly seamless interaction between you/your character (in first person which I don't normally like) and everything around you. The weather and slow arc of daylight to darkness is a perfect way to experience the two shifting levels of gameplay in a natural environment.Storyline - okay it's just clever enough but look, it's another post apocalyptic zombie story. Having said that the characters are many and varied, and the interaction with the gameplay's focus is very well done - in fact second to none. I also like the fact that this is not post viral America - this has a culturally different feel for once.Gameplay - There's lots to do here when you either deviate or finish the main story. Once you get used to jumping, being stealthy, fighting and making upgrades you can run and jump around the environment at some speed. I like the fact there are no shortcuts to quickly cross the map. You have to get there under your own steam taking whichever route suites you best as the map opens up to you.So if you normally shy away from this type of game but like truly open world environments with a bit of horror and a lot of stealth and side-stories thrown in, I strongly suggest you get this game. It is beautifully immersive and you really do start to feel you have to watch your back at every turn - especially when the sun goes down! Why not Youtube some gameplay before you decide...

BE WARY! I was sent a copy with a foreign case!
The game itself is magnificent, though I'd recommend you buy elsewhere!Even though this product is advertised for being in English, the game case is actually in another language. The game still works, and is in English, though that's not the point. If you're anything like me, and you enjoy having games to add to your collection on your shelf or wherever, do be wary!
