Varilight 4566 Varilight Polished Chrome Effect Ceiling Light Pull Switch with Cord

The chrome plated plastic cover looks OK when finally in place. But the cover was wider than the one being replaced, which meant the whole fitting had to be moved further from the wall, plasterboard crumbled, and a way had to be found to attach to a piece of wood fitted above the ceiling. Also, the electrical terminals are a long way apart, which could be a nuisance if the existing wires are short. What should have been a simple replacement turned into quite a faff (and took much much longer).

Meh....looks nice, bought to replace a faulty (13 years of service) existing switch. Easy to fit, but upon screwing the cover on, the chrome cover fell away from the main plastic cover.Perhaps use a better glue? And maybe more of it. It has to stand up to steamy conditions, so falling apart isn't going to cut it.The only reason I didn't send it back, is because I dont like showering in the dark.

Old bathroom pull switch cord snapped at the very top. Ordered this through prime and was here next day. Like for like swap so easy to install. Doesn't seem quite as solid as previous fitting but overall I'm pleased with the product.

Well made, easy to install if you know what you are doing and it works. The cord is very long so it should be suitable for any bathroom.

Nice looking, but as we previous reviews, you do need glue to re-stick the metal cover.But don’t let that put you off, it is still a nice product..!!

Not difficult to fix up but fiddly however a good product

This pull switch was bought to replace the original bathroom one which stopped working. Unfortunately I didn't think to check if it was suitable as our ceiling pull switch is fitted flush to the wall. While the base fitted perfectly ( same size as old one ) the screw on chrome cover being a larger diameter than the base had no clearance between the switch base and the wall to allow it to be screwed on. A pity as it appears to be a well made good quality switch which should last for years.
