Q: Hello, I'm looking to keep these worms for food my axolotls. How would I store them so they stay alive?

These worms are shipped in 100%dry peat moss so in the winter they don't freeze and summer they won't cook. They are super dehydrated when you receive them and need water and living environment as soon as you get them. I just recieved my order, although it doesn't look like I received 1000 as ordered, they were all alive and in good shape and just needing hydration.

Q: I noticed these worms are from PA. I live in Florida and I want to put them in my organic garden. Are they okay to use in Fl?

I too live in South West FL and my worms from here are doing wonderful in the worm farm. So much so that after 4 months I have place some in my raised herb beds and they are also doing just fine. You do have to keep the soil moist and I do add some compost to the soil as well.

Q: What quantity of worms should go in what size of compost bin?

Well they recommend 1000 worms for a 22" L x 16" W x 6" bin, so you can adjust accordingly. Personally I bought the 250 count (and probably got more than that) for a child's school project. Our bin is about the size of shoe two boxes side by side and it seems about right.

If it is roughly 4 ounces per 250 worms and there are 16 ounces in 1 pound. Then multiply 250 by 4 and there’s your answer.
