STRIPAX Stripping and cutting tool

Excellent wire stripper. I have lots from all manufacturers and this is the best.

I was skeptic regarding buying this tool but I am happy I did. This seems to be the real thing, very good for stripping cables (electrical mainly) - I use it for occasional house projects, not for business use. I've only tested it on 2,5 mm2 cables so far but it's fast and accurate in stripping the cable. The tear of the insulation is not pretty as with a cutter but you get the job done real fast. I was looking for a tool that could be used head first inside a connection box (maybe the cables are too short and can't be taken out over the line of the wall or it's risky to pull the cables with force to use a regular stripping tool on its side that are much cheaper) and this is just perfect - reach in, target the cable, squeeze your hand and clank ... it's done, no pulling the cable, no peeling of the insulation etc.

You can't beat Weidmuller kit for practical and consistent use. Goes well with my PZ6 roto and PZ3 crimps.

Well worth the money in my opinion, I've tried many different brands of wire stripper and thought I'd splash out on a decent one and it's been well worth it. They strip perfectly every time, they're nice and lightweight but don't feel flimsy. If you're stripping wires a lot, get them!

I bought these to replace my previous pair which eventually failed after over 15 years of regular use, and even then it was my own fault in stubbornly trying to strip too large a wire rather than walking back to my tool box and getting my similar pair of Weidmuller strippers designed for larger conductors. Once you have used a pair of these you will not be tempted back to cheaper alternatives, they are the real deal and that unfortunately commands a higher price but their longevity means you won't be continually buying replacements, so over time the investment is well worth it. Used a Stripax over 40 years ago. We tested durability on it. Stripped and cut more than 10000 wires, no problems. Have had a number of strippers (including Kn***) since then. None good, some plainly awful. Finally bought a new Stripax though pricey. They have made some improvements over the years Clean strips in different insulations, no cut strands yet. Happy with it.

Compared to other tools of similar performance and price range, it produces a very loud noise at the end of the operation, which may be fine for occasional use. Still, if you plan to use it for repetitive tasks like wiring electronic boxes, you should consider other products. Which one? It doesn't matter. This is the loudest I've tested so that any other tool will be less noisy.
