WEIDMÜLLER STRIPAX Stripping and cutting tool

Excellent wire stripper. I have lots from all manufacturers and this is the best.

I was skeptic regarding buying this tool but I am happy I did. This seems to be the real thing, very good for stripping cables (electrical mainly) - I use it for occasional house projects, not for business use. I've only tested it on 2,5 mm2 cables so far but it's fast and accurate in stripping the cable. The tear of the insulation is not pretty as with a cutter but you get the job done real fast. I was looking for a tool that could be used head first inside a connection box (maybe the cables are too short and can't be taken out over the line of the wall or it's risky to pull the cables with force to use a regular stripping tool on its side that are much cheaper) and this is just perfect - reach in, target the cable, squeeze your hand and clank ... it's done, no pulling the cable, no peeling of the insulation etc.

You can't beat Weidmuller kit for practical and consistent use. Goes well with my PZ6 roto and PZ3 crimps.

Well worth the money in my opinion, I've tried many different brands of wire stripper and thought I'd splash out on a decent one and it's been well worth it. They strip perfectly every time, they're nice and lightweight but don't feel flimsy. If you're stripping wires a lot, get them!

I bought these to replace my previous pair which eventually failed after over 15 years of regular use, and even then it was my own fault in stubbornly trying to strip too large a wire rather than walking back to my tool box and getting my similar pair of Weidmuller strippers designed for larger conductors. Once you have used a pair of these you will not be tempted back to cheaper alternatives, they are the real deal and that unfortunately commands a higher price but their longevity means you won't be continually buying replacements, so over time the investment is well worth it. Après m’être bien renseigné, j’ai quand même hésité à l’acheter au vu du prix, mais aussi parce que je ne connaissais absolument pas la marque Weidmüller. Les photos sont assez trompeuses : la pince est en réalité plutôt petite et légère, ce qui la rend vraiment très agréable à manipuler. Les plastiques sont de très bonne qualité, les réglages sont nombreux et la graduation permet d’ajuster très facilement et précisément la longueur de dénudage. Et le résultat est assez simple : elle a été amortie en une demi-journée de travail ! Elle est incroyablement bien pensée et surtout extrêmement efficace, aussi bien sur les fils rigides que souples. J’ai pu refaire tout un tableau électrique avec une facilité déconcertante, tout en obtenant un travail vraiment propre et régulier. Le système de coupe intégré sous la pince est également très pratique et évite d’avoir constamment une pince coupante à portée de main. Seul petit défaut, totalement subjectif : le look. Dans le monde de l’outillage électrique, le rouge, le jaune et le bleu sont des couleurs historiques que l’on associe assez spontanément à l’outillage professionnel. Le noir associé à cet orange assez terne de Weidmüller manque donc un peu de peps et, aussi bête que cela puisse paraître, m’a même fait hésiter avant l’achat. Une impression qui disparaît immédiatement une fois la pince en main : la qualité de fabrication et l’efficacité sont clairement celles d’un véritable outil professionnel. Plus gênant en revanche : l’absence d’une véritable notice permettant de comprendre les différents réglages et toutes les fonctions de la pince. J’ai même eu du mal à trouver la documentation complète sur Internet ! Je joins donc une copie à mon commentaire, en espérant qu’elle puisse être utile à d’autres utilisateurs. Mais tout cela reste vraiment secondaire face à la qualité de fabrication, à l’ergonomie et surtout à l’efficacité redoutable de cet outil. Je recommande à 100 %. Excellent outil : 6/5 !

Used a Stripax over 40 years ago. We tested durability on it. Stripped and cut more than 10000 wires, no problems. Have had a number of strippers (including Kn***) since then. None good, some plainly awful. Finally bought a new Stripax though pricey. They have made some improvements over the years Clean strips in different insulations, no cut strands yet. Happy with it.

This stripper tool is very simple to use, very adaptable to several wires and with some interesting features, such as the ability to strip the wire but leave the isolation still in place, for when you want to strip a number of wires from the same cable. I am totally happy with it.
