If you can read ideographic characters you might do well with the instructions. The metric measurements can easily be converted. But shouldn't have to be.Once installed these work great. It took most of a day, mostly due to additions to the case work in the cabinetry (window seat) that these closers were installed on.

These work great and even a little to good. I purchased them from a small toy box so the lid wouldn't shut on little hands and fingers. I only needed to use one because they are so strong. I worry about the lid popping up and hitting one of the kids in the head now! Even though, I do not regret buying them. Just hoping it actually becomes a soft close hinge after it gets broken in.

The lid to my 2’ wide 2’ deep and 8’ long storage box weighs 50 pounds. Very hard to lift and wanted to slam shut and no way to keep lid up but to prop it open and HOPE I didn’t knock the brace out of the way.Just installed these struts and am thrilled.I can open with one hand, lid stays up and definitely makes it safer to close.If you are looking a soft close like a self closing kitchen cabinet door this isn’t that effective but it’s all I’m asking if it. I have to hold onto it as it closes but it’s like it weighs 5 pounds not 50.As far as installation goes just ignore the instructions it came with. Go to the picture titled installation guide and use it.I found it helpful to mount the bottom bracket where it says to, slip the strut on the bracket, tilt the lid to the farthest open position and then simply push the top of the strut against the lid and put in the top screw. You wont be able to access the other screw so just draw a line along the edge of the top bracket for reference, pop the bottom off the bracket, line up the top bracket to the line and put the other screw in. Pop the bottom onto the bracket and put in the retainer screw that keeps it from coming off.First time I’ve used these and I was done in less than a half hour including the time it took to convert the millimeters to inches.Would not hesitate buying these again as long as they continue to perform as they are now.

It works as described and seems well built. Installation was simple but the instructions were just helpful enough to get me started and I had to figure out the rest. Fortunately, not much to it. That said, maybe I did it wrong, I am disappointed in the range of motion. The angle between full close and full open is smaller than I expected, 45 degrees or so. It is usable, but barely. I'll keep it because it is installed and within an acceptable range of performance, but would recommend it only to someone who wants pretty and rugged hardware with a small range of motion.

Exactly what we were looking for to function as a soft close lid to protect our toddlers little hands from homemade toy box.

I did not like the fact that I needed to Lowes to get the additional hardware to install it. Additionally, the instructions were not that clear which led to some trial/error.

Ordered these for a lift top cabinet my husband is going to install in our kitchen. Since we haven't completed it yet I gave it four stars. Came quick, good price.
