Fitting was really simple, the insulation opens up to slip over the tap. I had to trim mine which is very easy by checking how much to trim and then using a sharp kitchen knife on a breadboard! I fitted the kit with a hozelock connecter on the tap with no problems, and can still connect the hose. One of the pictures show this is possible but just want to check.** A: I guess that would depend on the type of connector. My tap is threaded so I can get the brass threaded connector on ( although the part of the protector covering the tap now comes off with the cap - had it a couple of months so pretty poor adhesive). If you have the Hozelock click fit type, I doubt you’d get that on with the projector in place. **Q: Are the black caps insulated on the inside?** A: Hi after wracking my brains I think that it comes with some insulation to go inside the plastic covers but when I first fitted it, the wind blew hard and the extra bits disappeared! So threw out the plastic cups and since I have used it securing with cable ties each autumn to fix the main insulation around the main body of the tap so the tap handle and end where water comes out is exposed. I turn off the supply indoors and undo the tap outside to let water drain out and so far so good in minus 5 temperature in beast from the east. Just need to remember where I stored it and have cable ties to hand or I would have thrown it away! **Q: Does this stip your tap and pipe from freezing up?** A: It will stop the tap from freezing. But not the pipe. It is not big enough for tap and pipe. This tap cover is two pieces of pipe lagging glued together and two plastic lids from a aerosol can.
