The images show the white strips but I have just received the black ones. I prefer the white strips as they are deeper than the black ones allowing the vacuum to draw the cleaning fluid through the brush. The black ones are more shallow and the VCS doesn’t pull all the fluid through. Also when you change direction it puts all the surplus fluid it hasn’t removed back on to the record. In answer to replacing the brushes always clean the old adhesive off the metal arm with some 90% isopropyl cleaner or Goo Gone. It removes all residue and dries immediately. Also keep your fingers from touching the sticky pads allowing clean contact. I’ve learnt from experience that if you don’t remove the old adhesive it can be dragged up onto your records and is a right bugger to get off.

Finally, these seem to stick properly and do their job
Had a few issues with these in the past as they seem to spontaneously peel themselves off the vacuum arm after a few uses (not sure if its just poor quality adhesive used on the strips or bad product design (maybe the record cleaning solution weakens the adhesive?). These seem slightly different than the older ones ive used and -touch wood - hasnt started peeling off the vacuum arm yet. If you find the peel off the arm (or dont stick in the first place) then get in touch with Pro-Ject who will sort it out for you by sending replacement strips

Typical Pro-Ject poor quality accesory
1st generation white strips (pictured) don't stick. Ruins records with glue being sucked. Black 2nd generation (decent sellers will send you these even though 1st gen are pictured) are too thin and take too long to dry by comparison. Threads of the material have started coming off after around 20 washes on one black strip and now has to be replaced again. Wish I bought a rival record cleaning machine. Nothing but trouble and wasted money with Pro-Ject accessories.
