what are included? the base plate and the fire grate, included?

I don't know what you mean about a base plate, but the system comes complete, ready to go. Very good design, it has everything you need to make a fire in it and keep the fire contained inside the stove.

Anybody found out why the accessories for thia stove are stainless steel and not titanium?

Because the stove itself is also made of stainless steel, it would not make sense to use titanium accessories (they would not save much weight but would cost a lot more).

Does this catch as and embers? I mean is it safe to use in dryer climates directly on the ground when pine trees are around? Thank you.

Like anything to do with fire, care must be taken when using this stove. I would sweep away any ground debris like leaves, branches, twigs and clear a space before using the stove. I always place my stove in an 8"x8x1" metal baking pan whenever I use it. That way the stove never makes direct contact with the ground, table or other surfaces.

Oh I'm sure nobody measures anything in grams anymore we all count out 800 individual grains of sand with a pair of tweezers & magnifying glass it only takes about 4 hours to weigh an object.!!!!!!
