Simple but with more depth and fun than expected!
This has kept our attention over several games nights in a row and we are already talking about playing it again. It's nice and simple to pick up, with a classic mode to get you going, or to play with younger children (Age 8+ ideally) and you can move on to expert mode fairly quickly. We have also now splashed out on the public services expansion but we want to play without it a few more times before we crack that open. As a big fan of computer games such as sim city in my youth, this game theme immediately appealed to me and the artwork is great fun and eye catching. The game play is quite simple but you do have multiple strategy options that you can choose from (harbours, residential tower blocks, industry, commercial etc). You always feel that you could have done with an extra couple of goes to make the most of your strategy, as you are limited to collecting 4 tiles each round, but that is where the skill lies - in making the most of the few goes that you get! Your strategy can also be thwarted by your opponents if they happen to take a tile that you are after, so you have to be ready to adapt and think on your feet too. We have played both 2 player and 3 player so far. The more players that you have the more tiles are available, which changes the dynamics slightly as people have the potential to push their chosen strategies further, although there is potentially more competition for those tiles too! We have been really impressed by the scoring mechanisms as we have all taken various strategies and the scoring each time has been very close, especially on classic mode - we have even tied on one occasion. We're really enjoying this. It only takes an hour to play tops and is providing far more depth and fun than we had anticipated!

Very Good Game as you would Expect from Days of Wonder
picked up two copies of this game based on good reviews and a bargain price of £14 in November. we kept one copy and gifted the other.Played for the first time on new years day and thoroughly enjoyed it. i think the meeples and energy cubes add a good dimension to the game .A stong point is that the game is played over 4 turns of 4 rounds and this means its not going to drag on all night unlike some games. what i found in practice is that avoiding the buildings that have lots of meeples or energy ends up being a bad strategy as with the shopping centres etc you can dump the extra people.good scale-able game too as plays as well with two or four

Great family game.
Nice components and fairly easy to learn, great bargain when it was £15 and a number of people at my local games club bought it. All were pretty pleased with the game.

Excellent tile laying and city building game
I knew I'd like Quadropolis but as it turns out I was wrong, I love it!The way it basically plays out is you collect building tiles and place them on your board to build up your own city, however the collection, and placement of titles, depends greatly on the particular number of your surveyor/ architect/ builder (1 - 4 adding 5 in expert mode) so you must be careful to not waste your chances. You get energy and population from your buildings and have to assign them to get the best results for points, any leftover that can't be placed are waste and will give negative points at the end of the game. This reminded me so much of simulation games like Constructor, SIM City, any of the tycoon games that, during my first playthrough, I just enjoyed building my city up without thinking about the points I'd gain at the end. It's not everyday that happens when I play games, it was refreshing! This game doesn't give lots of player interaction, if that's a problem then perhaps it's not for you, there's a definite solitaire aspect to you building up your own city but it's fun to watch others develop thiers as well.I, personally, recommend it!

Who is the better planner???
A game of strategy and tile drafting. It looks complicated when you put out all the pieces but it proved easy to learn. The game is challenging and has lots of replay ability. It keeps everyone involved throughout and a more expert level to try.At the price I purchased it at, from Amazon, it was well worth buying.Certainly I would recommend it for any over 11 years old.

A new favourite
Great board game for a family of board game fans. We have quite a selection of board games and play most weeks ranging from just two adults + 8 yo to the whole family including several adults. We all love the game, the fact that you can play strategies on different levels and that no two games are alike. There is a certain amount of preparation for playing the first time (15min set up) but afterwards, it's quick to get started and enjoy the fun. Recommended!

Gorgeous game you will play many times.
I play this with my fiance and it is a lot of fun for two players!Quick to set up and you will get through a game quickly. Yet it has plenty of depth and replayability due to the mechanics of the game and how it limits where you can place buildings on certain turns. The art is gorgeous and the production value of the game pieces is superb.Highly recommended, glad I bought it.

Fantastic board game and lots of fun
Fantastic board game and lots of fun. Timely arrival as well. However, box was severely damaged on arrival. Thankfully only exterior damage so we can still play the game but it does tarnish this review.
