Great as an emergency washing machine
Powerful and quick washing machine bought to clear backlog from broken machine and keep me going until the new automatic machine arrives. It cleared over 30KG, which would have cost over the price of the machine to take to a laundry and have washed and dried. Only put in one large towel at a time or 1 pair jeans, or 1 double duvet cover, but everything else is ok. Make sure the washer is full of water after transferring clothes, and puting more in, otherwise it could damage the machine. It is an excellent little powerhouse which will work in any bath or shower unit.I might have spent the extra money on it, but it has paid for it's self, in what the laundry shop would have charged me. So, I also have something to show for the same price, as well as nice clean smelling, freshly laundered clothes.

really like this machine
E.T.A. - machine is still going strong over a year later, and is in regular use! 5 starsMy washing machine broke down over a year ago and I've not been able to afford a replacement (there's always something else I need to pay for!) so I've been handwashing what I can and using a [very expensive] laundrette for anything else.Thing is I have neuropathy [nerve damage] in my hands, which is getting worse, and not helped by trying to do my washing.A friend kindly gave me Amazon vouchers for Christmas and I was able to afford this little twin tub.It does the job very well, I use liquid detergent and give things a wash, then use clean water to rinse, then water with fabric conditioner to finish off.The spin dryer is excellent, really gets things dry, but you do have to load the spinner carefully to avoid unbalancing the machine!(I'm hoping to be able to video the process at some point!)Very happy with it!Thank you Lynda, for the vouchers!

Your very own interactive washing experience....but if you get it right it is very, very efficient and environmentally friendly.
Summary:This will never compete against a proper full sized washing machine but it does work - in that it gets your clothes clean and surprisingly dry (the spinning section is very efficient) - if you are prepared to work with it.Pros:a) Price: yup, it is cheap.b) It works - if you are prepared to put the effort in.c) It is light / easy to ship when you move house (will fit in the front seat of my car - just)d) It can be very, very efficient on water and energy. For lightly soiled / normal office worn clothing it is perfectly possible to get three sets of clothing - well over a week's washing for me - washed using one fill of the washing section (modern detergents are amazing) and one fill of cold, clean water for rinsing.e) It is very easy to recycle the water onto - say - your lawn garden in summer as you get to dump it yourself. And I can confirm after an entire season that my lawn loves the water and the detergent doesn't hurt it. Another positive is that all those microfibers that would normally get washed into the ocean (they pass straight through the town sewage treatment works) are now locked up in my garden for the next 1000 or so years where they hurt pretty much nothing and are more likely to degrade / just be inert particles.f) A wash can be surprisingly fast with a little practice: you can be washing load #2 while spinning out half of load #1 and have the other half of load #1 stacked ready for rinsing for: the machine does have two sides that operate independently. A full wash cycle takes ~15 minutes, a spin closer to 5 minutes. You'll be working the entire time though...no magic buttons to push and walk away for a couple of hours.Cons:a) No manual / instructions ('Grandma not included'). My Gran used to have a Twin Tub back in the 1980s....so I sort of remembered how to use one from when I was a very small kid. One thing I had to re-learn was what that flexible disc supplied was for - I remember her having one...but why? Answer: keeping the clothes compact in the spinner and so balanced.b) Small size. 5kg max a time; see notes below.c) Very short outlet hose (<50cm) to dump the waste water from; filling is tricky. I added a 3m outlet hose to allow me to dump the water onto the lawn outside my kitchen and extra 'tails' + hose pipe taps to the hot & cold dishwasher outlets so I could place the unit on the counter at head height to fill and use it.d) Wetness. I do my washing using Gym clothes: wearing shorts and a fast drying T-Shirt and an (old) towel on the floor: water goes everywhere as I haul clothes from the washer to the spinner - often via my sink so I use less water / speed things up.e) There is a 'knack' to doing your washing; this is an 'interactive washing experience'. You'll need to plan as to what to wash with what in which order and manage your intermediate stacking space of 'washed to rinse' clothes - or you'll be at it for what seems like ever. Washing is a mental and physical workout...(so not for everybody....).f) Often - for no apparent reason - the clothes tangle up and stop rotating in the wash section. There is a reason while Grandma had a washing stick to use for her Twin Tub to 'help them swish round'; it is the reason I have mild dermatitis (see next point) when I use my hands to untangle the jams that form.g) You are going to need gloves / tolerate your skin being exposed to the detergent - and modern detergents are surprisingly harsh so expect to moisturise your hands and forearms afterwards.h) The capacity is highly variable depending on the clothes type. I've got a pair of heavy workshop trousers that basically take up the entire of the washer section because their material is so stiff - yet I can wash 6 long sleeved shirts or all my weekly underwear + bath towel + pillow cases.i) The capacity is just too small for certain items: you are going to be washing / drying your double duvets elsewhere....every so often I take the Duvets to my Mum's house do them there in her machine / tumble dry them in between Cups of Tea.

Really great little machine
I purchased this twin tub for white washes as our machine is cleaning overalls all the time and turning whites grey even when the machine is cleaned. So I needed a small machine just for my whites. I’d watched some YouTube tutorials on it and figured it was worth a go.Today I used it for the first time and it did a fantastic job. You do need a level surface, I used our wet room. I could fill from the shower head rather than the fill tube supplied (been told it’s not great, so either purchase a different fill tube or use a bucket or similar). The wash cycle slowed down a little bit, washing tends to tangle, so as advised I readjusted a big towel in my wash and that sorted it. Also you can add extra water at this stage which will also cure the problem. As advised I did a couple of rinses. First spin the clothes whilst you drain the water from washing side, then refill with water and once the spin stops rinse and repeat.I have to say, I was a bit sceptical of this little plastic twin tub but the wash and spin were fantastic. If the spin falters readjust the washing within, problem sorted. All in all a smooth wash and really great spin, clothes almost dry.Obviously this is a more hands on experience but over in less than half an hour and all fresh and clean. I’m totally happy with it.And as an extra bonus I can take it camping too - win win I’d say.The only negative (although it didn’t bother me) was the drain hose leaks water even when you are washing, so if I wasn’t spinning anything I just hooked the tube back up and it stopped. As I say I was in a wet room so not a problem.Overall a great purchase and as long as it holds out I am happy.

Faulty and hard work
So glad to receive this product when machine broke. Had to request a refund as it makes loud noises upon washing and spinning isn't great either. Great if you get a decent one and not a duff one like me.Not for 2 person household. Only for holiday or boat if it's just a few bits.I wouldn't buy again or recommend it's heavy too so not suitable for people who can't lift much either
