TFA Puck Kitchen Timer, Brown

I have been using this timer for 4 months and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a reasonably price countdown timer. I bought it as an alternative to the TimeTimer - while it looks great it's simply out of my budget! The timer is really simple to use and does exactly what I bought it for - to display time physically counting down. ***Pros*** Size - The timer fits nicely in your hand. It's around 3 inches in diameter, making the countdown function nice and visible from a distance away too. Weight - The timer is not too heavy but not too light that you'd swipe it off your desk. Clarity of display - You can easily read the face, the numbers aren't too small or cramped together. Also when you set the timer, the red countdown section is clear and nicely visible. Timing - Well, the most important part! It's a great timer, being able to physically see time counting down is such a wonderfully useful thing. You simply twist the face of the clock to select how many minutes you want to countdown. I've not used mine for cooking but when setting 30mins to work on a task it really helps you keep on track. Young and old in a variety of settings would benefit greatly from it - from timing how long you want to work on a task, to counting down time left maybe gaming or sewing before you need to get up or even allocating yourself some time to just relax! ***Cons*** Bell - The bell doesn't always go off when the minutes count down. I'm not sure if that's just mine or if it's the way I'm setting in. Since I'm not using it for cooking and generally have music playing while using it, it doesn't bother me - I only want to see time counting down in a physical sense. If you need an audible reminder this would be a disadvantage if yours was like mine. Shape - sometimes the circular shape of the timer does leave it a little prone to rolling off your desk if you have it propped up against something - just keep an eye on it!

It’s simple and easy to use. Just turn to the time and it goes. It is loud when it rings - a short ring that then stops. This is helpful for people with disabilities.

Nice large timer. Easier to read from a distance than most timers. Good quality. Great price and value. A magnet on the back is a great idea, although you will usually need two hands to operate it, one to hold the body and one to turn the timer. The acid test, would I buy another if I broke this? Yes, definitely! Tip: Make sure you wind it beyond the time you want, then wind back to get a longer ring.

I use this for the Pomodoro Technique as a 25 minute timer, it works brilliantly and I've been much more productive. Some reviews claimed the timer didn't ring, I've not experienced this. The instructions say to rotate to 60 minutes and then back to the time you desire, maybe this is the solution.

Started fine, then began turning too fast, especially at the far end of the hour. so couldn't keep accurate times at all. Also happened just after return period ended, so no money back!

I can’t recommend this timer enough. I teach in a school and privately and it’s just a wonderful study aid! It’s especially good for children with dyslexia as it’s so visual and has an amazing proper ticking sound.

Sometimes it doesn’t ring when the it hits 0 and sometimes it doesn’t even work but it’s a timer, not a big deal

A great little timer. heavy and sturdy with a strong enough magnetic back to not fall off. I will say though that I had to return the first one because it arrived with no alarm at the end of the timer. This has not been a unique problem among buyers. So I treat it very carefully and don't move it around. I've had it a couple of months and it is working exactly as it should. the ring is loud enough to hear from across the room or even the next room if it's in a quiet environment, without being so loud that it startles.

Love it. All mechanical so no batteries. Seems well built out of quality materials, and seems really durable. Perfect for a kitchen, classroom, or office. I bought enough for all three!

I wish the clock is silent while it counts down. I use this to set limit for my kids' screen time, but it's a distraction with the ticking sound.
