End game headphone amp that sounds great for a fair price
The Schiit drives my 600ohm BeyerDynamic DT-880 headphones with no issues or distortion. Compact, Clean and powerful sound from a well built mostly US made product. I own several of their products. Over the years I've never had any issues. Schiit are also pretty good at customer service. When you buy any of those Chi-Fi brands you have no place to obtain service. Your stuck with a paperweight.. Schiit is a USA company in Texas that stands behind their products. I'm not a fan boy. I just know what has worked for me and at more than fair prices.

Fantastic Amp!
The front gain controls are a nice touch, with a -10 dB option perfect for sensitive IEMs. Just skip TRRS plugs with built-in mics unless you use an adapter. Setup is straightforward, though I wish the power switch were on the front and that there was a visible indicator light. If you’re stacking gear, it makes it impossible to see. The volume knob works fine but it could feel more refined. On the plus side, the red-on-black design is striking. Sound-wise, the Heretic is pure Schiit: plenty of headroom, clean detail, wide soundstage, and absolutely no noise. At the price, it’s an easy recommendation! It’s powerful, great-sounding, and free of any real compromises.

Exceeded expectations, very useful features as pre-amp.
Excellent pre-amp with 50 kΩ input impedance (like all Schiit audio gears). Clean sound. Output gain selector - perfect. Very reasonably priced.

Solid replacement for original for most people
Looks 10x better than the original magni 3 considering it is the same size which is still pretty small, and the switches feel of better quality (reason I ordered this after my original power switch on the og version broke after 5 years). The only complaint I have is the lows (clarity) aren’t nearly as low as the original. The sound is much brighter overall which can be a positive and negative and I can’t complain for the price of

A very good amp for the money
Be cautious with what you read: gaming will not cause the auto-protection to activate on this amplifier. It's designed to provide a clean, uncolored sound. This device serves as both a headphone amp and preamp, capable of driving high-impedance headphones and functioning as a preamp with pass-through capabilities, allowing you to utilize its volume and gain controls. Here's my setup: As someone managing a budget, I'd ideally upgrade to a Benchmark, but for now, I'm making do with what I have. I use a Jinfeng RAC 2 in 1 out RCA switch. The input comes from a Schiit Mani 2 Phono Preamp connected to an AT-LP3 turntable with an AT-VM95ML cartridge, or a Pro-Ject DAC Box S2+ which I feed from my PC using lossless files from Foobar2000 or Tidal. These inputs then connect to a Schiit Heretic. For output, I use a Beyerdynamic T70 250 ohm headphone or split the signal to an Aiyima A07 MAX (upgraded with a Fosi 48v 10a PSU and MUSES02 op-amps) and Klipsch RM-41 speakers along with a Klipsch R-12SW subwoofer. I tested the setup with intensive games like CoD and didn't trigger the auto-protection once. The only time it activated was when I adjusted the input or output gain on the Schiit Phono Preamp, which it seemed to dislike. I'm quite pleased with the amp’s performance—it drives the headphones well and allows me to moderate the subwoofer output, which can be overwhelming depending on the track. For example, the deep bass when Netflix starts is particularly intense. Overall, I appreciate being able to adjust the volume and gain to fine-tune the bass response.

Awesome and MADE IN USA!
This is an excellent headphone amp that paired easily with my Fosi GR40 preamp! My Hifiman HE400SE sounds better than ever! No noise, improvement in soundstage, instrument placing and details compared to my old Douk Audio U10. For $69 in offer, it is an excellent buy (and would be a good buy at $99!). Another plus is that it is made in the USA and by buying this Schiit you help local industries. This amp added joy to my life.

The other half of the "Schiit Stack"!
I have this paired with my Schiit Modi DAC and it's AMAZING. This is currently powering my Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pros and it has been an absolute pleasure to have. It has plenty of power for high end headphones and when paired with the Modi, it is a great starter amp for those looking to step into the audiophile game! I heavily suggest this and the Modi when pairing it with PCs. I use this for gaming, listening to music, music production, entertainment, streaming, etc. It handles it all! The multi connections on it are also a blessing when it comes to configuring multiple audio interfaces!

Great little headphone amp. Has run everything I've wanted pretty much perfectly.
Do you have some headphones that need some power to get them really sounding right? This is your amp. Do you have a pair of headphones that requires very little power but you still want to run them through your new high end DAC? This is your amp. Let's start this off by saying the Heretic is phenomenally clean and SILENT. I've put used them with sensitive IEMS and power hungry over ears and this amp ran perfectly for both. It's got plenty of volume and the ability to adjust gain to three levels. all while maintaining a perfectly silent amplification. You'd need exceptionally sensitive headphones to really hear anything other than what you want to hear. I have this running with a Modi+ plus in the classic "Schiit Stack" and I have nothing but compliments. To the point I got my partner to buy their own stack and they too have had nothing but praise. Sadly, it looks like it's been discontinued. But if you have the chance to pick one up, I'd say go for it, especially if you can get it at a good price.
