The best LED Lantern I have come across but hard to find in the UK and therefore costly however it is worth it.
I have had a number of LED Lantern over the years and they always disappoint, however this lantern stands head and shoulders above the other manufactures and is my favourite. I only been using it for 2 days but for those days I have been camping and climbing in Snowdonia North Wales.. On with the review, it is very well made and strong, can take a bump or two. Changing batteries is a breeze, the bottom battery cover has a locator and you just push and turn until it clicks, unlike others I could mention, just read the reviews. The light is bright enough to read a book by and you often turning it down to make it softer, there is also a red option for night vision which I use when having a night time barbeque and having a few late night glasses of wine :). There is a top and bottom carabineer type hooks which snap into place when not in use, this facilitates hanging the lamp on a suitable support. Oh it is also water resistant and floats, I have tried it. Operation is easy, press once and light comes on at full, press again within 1.5 seconds for medium and press twice for low brightness. To switch between white and red mode just hold button in for 2 seconds. Once on, press button normally once to turn off. Note:- it memories the mode (white or red) the lamp was in when it was turned off, so when it is switch on next time, it is in the same mode as before. Operation sound complicated but it's not really. Batteries life is long, still got the originals in and there is a battery indicator in the button (green, yellow, red then flashing red). For the use I will give this thing if it lasts a year it will be 10 times longer than the others I have had. There is a video review of this lantern on YOUTUBE, check it out. Have fun but be safe. :)

Amazing!
I was looking for a small lantern for backpacking and using in my small tent for reading/writing etc. I'd looked around at various reviews but I was quite taken by this lantern. On receiving the light, I was pretty darn taken with it, haha! It's a lovely size, just right for filling small spaces. The light isn't harsh on the eye, and it has a variety of different ways to use it: hanging by the handle, upsidedown with a clip, or I've even used it as a torch. The product is sturdy and it's been rattling around in my rucksack without any problems. It also has very strong magnets on the base. All in all, would highly recommend if you're a backpacker/camper with a smaller tent The smaller size is quite unobtrusive and it packs a great, even light.

Excellent product!
This is a really good lamp. While its a bit expensive, I think it is worth it as it has a very rugged feel to it. I would preferred to have bought one that takes AA batteries but that model was not available for shipping to me. This one takes large D size batteries, which I'm using at the moment. Still I bought a pack of plastic inserts which convert AA to fit the D size. It's a fantastic lamp to have in the house in the event of power cuts & emergencies!

The marketing department needlessly threw away a star...
Having got your attention... Bought to gift so it was disappointing it didn't come boxed. I'm certain it's new, still had its retail hanger and lens sleeve. I think the marketing department has needlessly thrown away a star by going boxless. That aside I'm hugely impressed with the product, so much so I'm probably going to order one for myself. Though I don't personally favour D cells it appears to work OK on AA to D adapters though obviously run-time will be less. Size wise I don't think it is excessively large for a main household emergency lantern or to put that differently maybe AA lanterns are a little small for household duty. I like the warm white light. It beggars belief that some lanterns makers are still using cool white. Other likes compared with the obvious competition, strong karabiner clips top and bottom and the little loop on the carry handle to stop it falling from a line, though I'd still recommend using the clip. Also of note is the keyed battery cover (no stick-on arrows here), though I did find the battery adapters tended to obstruct the pillar. Probably just needs some practice. Everything else I hope is in accordance with the product description.
