FUTURO Deluxe Thumb Stabilizer, Improves Stability, Moderate Stabilizing Support, Large/X-Large

I bought several different varieties of thumb stabilizers to treat the arthritis in my hand, and this one was by far the best. It is comfortable and effective. Other stabilizers were more bulky and uncomfortable. I highly recommend the Futuro brace.

I purchased this in the size that supposedly would fit me. I was at the top of the scale. HOWEVER, I am a tall person and my hand is long. The brace came and it didn't fit well. It pulled down between the thumb and my hand and was uncomfortable. So that being said, here's the tip: If you are TALL and your hands are long BUT not wide, even though you fall into the small/medium category, purchase the next size up. These are totally adjustable, super comfortable, work to stablize but not imobilize so you can still use your thumb but without injuring it further. I love they a slim and not bulky and super easy to put on. They could use some better instruction. The instruction is on the box but isn't super concise. At first I though I had to work the laces somehow but no, it's just part of the wrap. I'll definately purchase again when this wears out. ALSO ONE MORE THING. Since this is a Prime item, you'd think it was returnable, it IS NOT, due to Covid. So make good measurements when ordering. It is a very good brace!!!

This is not a brace for a broken thumb, of course, but it provides a lot of support while the thumb is healing. I recently knocked my thumb against something and had a sprain so it was difficult to bend my thumb. This brace stabilized my thumb. I had to use a cold pack to help the swelling go down and for a day I tied a wooden stick with some tape around my thumb as a makeshift splint, but then found this brace. After the swelling had minimized this brace really helped keep my thumb more stable.To provide extra support I had wrapped an extra piece of velcro tape around my thumb so it did not move much as this brace allows some movement and I needed more support. Due to this brace I was able to do tasks like driving and opening a medication bottle. I had no idea how tough it becomes to do simple tasks like open a jar if I don't have the use of both hands, and my thumb.After a few days of wearing it, it has become a bit looser. I use Women's XL size gloves, and my shoe size is 10, so I have larger hands. However, after it loosens up I have to tighten it 2-3 an hour. I think if you have medium sized hands go for the smaller size as it will loosen up and the Velcro gives you a lot of flexibility anyway. I have been trying to move heavier items recently and wearing this brace really helps prevent my thumb from further injury. It can be worn on left or right hand, so no issues there.

The brace provides greats stability, really helping with the pain. It can fit both Left & Right hands. You still get great motion, and the fastening system on the wrist is super cool and comfortable.Love it!!

I have bought so many different 'thumb stabilizers', most cannot be returned, which is a total ripoff! Lesson Learned. I saw this one when I went to pick up some medicine at the store. I tried it on and realized it is what I have been looking for all along. However, the store price was quite high!So, Amazon to the Rescue!! I knew it would fit and be the best for the osteoarthritis in my hands and thumb. It's very painful. The stability created with the glove is exactly what I've been looking for!! The price on Amazon is unbeatable. I ordered two and wish I had ordered it all along instead of wasting so darn much money on cheap knockoffs or even supposedly comparable stabilizers for much more money! THIS IS THE ONE!! Don't waste your time and/or money trying to find the right one. There's no guessing. Just order the size that will fit your wrist (I ordered Large/X-Large) and KNOW it WILL fit as expected and be as good quality as expected!! When I need another one, I WILL reorder this one. No more guessing or wasted money!!

It takes a special product to get 5 stars from me. This brace earns it. My wrist and thumb are extremely painful from holding my heavy tablet propped on that area but not in one specific area. I can bend and stretch my wrist and thumb 49 times with no pain but on the 50th time touching my palm causes tears. That can last for an hour or a week. During that time I need support. I have quite a few braces that work but are too bulky and really size specific. Then I found this. It’s as supportive as any of the bulky, more expensive types but is much smaller and sleek. It covers my wrist, thumb, palm and back of my hand perfectly. I’ve slept in it and it’s comfortable the next day. One thing. I removed the metal stays. I hate those things and it works fine. Did mention I can type and slow down at all.Now I have celebrate the inventor of the closure. The brace has a cross over tab with small stretchy bungee cord closure...like the no tie sneakers...with Velcro at the end. LOVE IT!!I’ve only had this a short time and I need another. Not because it doesn’t hold up. It really does. I just want another to rotate and I’ve tossed m old bulky ones.
