wasn't epecting that!!!
was looking for a new cd player, after my last one (of 20yrs) finally gave up on me. didn't have a lot of money and i'm mainly a vinyl listener now - but also have all my cd's on a harddrive so random play these through a streamer. however recently i wanted to just stick a cd on and listen. i looked at a lot of options and whilst not trusting a lot of the ~£100 cd players on amazon was erring to a denon/marantz/cambridge audio. but at this stage didn't have the money to justify getting these. i kept going back to the Madison - with the only downside (against others)was it didn't have a digital output (to connect to a seperate DAC). in the end i decided to go for it - it looks lush and my amp doesn't have digital inputs anyway - and didn't want to spend more getting a DAC too. arrived next day. unpacked and connected to my hifi - and I never expected this to be so good out of the box. the soundstage was great - and there's fantastic seperation. it's also quite a warm presentation - which i like. it's very neutral, so doesn't add anything of take anything away - so a really good recorded CD will sound awesome. a poor recorded CD does show their bad side. however - like vinyl - i prefer this - as i'm not being presented with somethihg false. i eventually hooked it up to a pair of interconnects and (as the power cable is built in) i added an IEC adapter so i could use and upgraded power cable (both of which cost more that the CD player itself.) this lifted its performance even greater. so pleased i went for this. i'm now enjoying listening to CD's again. will be interesting to see how it lasts over time, but for now i'm 100% happy

Good piece of kit
It's a perfectly good cd player. I think it's good value for money. It comes with a two pin plug (it's Belgian). No big deal. The radio seems a bit irrelevant these days.

Lovely little Amp for your cash .
Unfortunately I had to send this lovely sounding little amp back . It had a fault on the phono DVD input and I needed to use the input . The blue tooth sounded great when I used Amazon music and U tube . Took a while for the tubes to burn in but once they had the sound was very nice it shined over my old Yamaha amp that is no I2 years old . Bass was nice and well rounded mids and vocal were clean and not muddled and the top end bells sounded crisp and clear. For an amp in this price range I was pleasantly surprised at its sound quality and as a bonus it's a great looking valve amp . And even though it's only 25w a channel I never got the volume much past 50% and I was playing some loud rock music and some deep house for my daughter . Produced some amazing bass . I liked this amp very much . But take into account I was using it to drive some very nice 91db floor standing speakers and a Marantz Ki signature CD player which will make a nice amp sound even better but on the other hand will make a bad sounding amp sound really horrible . I hope my review has been of help I know how difficult it can be to decide which amp to buy without hearing it for yourself .

Judge for yourself.
I bought this because I wanted to hear what a valve amplifier sounded like but didn't want to spend the kind of money they normally are, typically ranging into the thousands of pounds. I had read a lot of negative comments about cheap Chinese made valve amplifiers and didn't expect a lot but wanted to judge for myself. Long story short, it is very good for the money and will compete with many solid state amplifiers costing several times its price. I did listening comparisons with Cambridge Audio and NAD systems costing five to six hundred pounds fed by a Pro-Ject RPM 4 turntable and Goldring 1020GX and IMHO it certainly sounded as good and also gave that warm inviting sound that seemed to pull you into the music, particularly acoustic recordings with close miked vocals. Please be aware though that this is not a true valve amplifier. Valves are only used in the input section, the output is solid state. As long as that is understood an objective opinion can be formed and the amplifier judged on its own merit. Also the quality control of these products can be a bit hit and miss but I have no complaints about the model I received it is well build and well finished. The problem is now that I've heard what valves can do to music I'll probably look to buy a full valve amp from China and hope I'm as lucky with that!

Had 2, returned 2. Shame
Build quality very poor, be careful. Maybe I'm just unlucky but had 2 and both lousy. First arrived with scratches all over the top and a permanent loud hum from the right channel (changed speaker and cable to be sure). Replacement arrived with the faux 'transister' box on the top screwed on at about a 4 degree angle to the unit as seen in the pics with the ruler being parallel to the unit. Maybe I'm too fussy but it was so obvious to the eye. Also neither came with uk plug attached in breach of uk regs. The second at least had an adapter in the box but still a breach. Not sure if there is supposed to be a remote control but there wasn't in either so I assume not although I thought one of the other reviews mentioned one? Real shame because they look great and wanted to like them and lots of good reviews and whilst £150 is cheap for an amp, that's because they clearly are.

Mad-cd review
This is a good cd player I would rate it higher but for one thing it doesn't have continuous play so if you like CDs that are one continuous mix like a DJ set then it will stop for a second between tracks. The build quality seems good and I like the design. So would make it up but for the play back issues.

Superb purchase
It maybe be "FAKE" valves like a lot of reviews have suggested on the internet BUT the valves do get hot and the sound quaility is absolutely superb ( and I am am really into my hi-fi ; to use a seldom used expression these days).

Good quality and sound
Perfect size, looks good and the sound is excellent. We didn't expect to be able to get just what we wanted for the price, so very pleased and would recommend.

Absolute Spitze.
