Pretty good, but back light bleeds a little and energy saving does not work
It's a pretty good system, but, the monitor never powers down properly, even when the DP cable is pulled out (so I know it's not an OS issue)! You can see the back light bleeding out around the edges of the display, and in a dark ish room you can see it has a black glow. I measured the power draw on my laptop PSU (laptop idle and in power save mode with main display turned off by the OS, mid level brightness) comparing the draw when the monitor is not plugged in at all vs plugged in and either blanked by the OS or with the DP cable pulled (power draw is the same in these two cases). The results show 50% more power draw when the monitor is being powered in this case, which in a laptop battery driven situation is quite a penalty. I doubt it would draw much if it was properly powered down after all... For a product specifically designed for laptops it is an unfortunate flaw I think. Apart from this problem though, as I say, it's a good system.

Almost, so almost perfect
This should be more like 4.9 stars, as the product and functionality of it are wonderful. The one very slight niggle is the mounting bracket actually covers the power button on the Microsoft Surface Book, and to prevent it sliding down and pressing the button (thus switching the machine off) I either have to put the screen on the right hand side or place a small object to prevent the mounting bracket sliding down to it's designed resting position.Such a small thing, I'll either have to cut a small piece away or glue something into the top left corner of the bracket. So no huge disaster.Maybe though a tip for any future iteration for what is a fantastic product, at a very decent price.

It's a good monitor, lightweight and works well
It's a good monitor, lightweight and works well.Colour is not exceptional, it's very magenta out of the box and overall red response is quite dull, but for what I got it for it's fine, just don't do professional colour work on it s the gamut appears quite limited.I'd like a second, but since I only have an HDMI and a Display Port, I shall have to find which adapter actually works for the HDMI, as I've heard they're quite temperamental.

Fantastic and ultra-portable 2nd monitor for laptops.
I have being using this for a couple of weeks now and absolutely love it! I work away regularly and hate when I only have a single screen because it really does impact on my ability to work as efficiently as possible. The 'installation' is litterely a case of attaching the strap and brackets to the laptop monitor (takes all of 3 seconds) and then sliding the monitor into a plastic groove. The monitor can be used in Landscape or Portrait mode and the quality of the resolution etc. is really very good. The weight of the monitor is extremely light which was an important factor for me with the amount of travel I do. Something to be aware of is that it uses either Display Port, Mini Display Port or Thunderbolt only - it will not at this current time work with HDMI or VGA - it also will not work with a HDMI to DisplayPort adaptor currently. I would actually have gone ahead and bought a second monitor but I only have a single mini-DP port on my ThinkPad so until they bring one out that has HDMI I will have to wait - on their website it says they are looking to release something that supports HDMI but that is not currently the case.Something to be cautious of is that it does consume quite a lot of battery. My ThinkPad T460 which normally runs at over 6 hours was reduced to just under 2, but to be honest that is to be expected anyway and has minimal impact to me.

Great screen, limited connectivity.
So what we have here is basically an iPad screen in a black plastic case with the necessary hardware to drive it from a Display Port feed.Taking power from an available USB socket (Or other usb power source such as an old phone charger plus), it plugs right into your laptop or desktop and pops up as an additional screen when you go into screen settings. It is DP only meaning that standard converters from HDMI won't work to the full resolution of the panel.I use mine on a windows laptop and the standard resolution is very fine, as it's quite a small screen I have to up the scaling for text ect. This is not a fault of the screen, but a necessary task given the super concentrated pixels of the panel. The screen looks as you'd expect, super sharp and very bright. there's not much in the way of settings other than brightness, but other settings really aren't needed.I've not used the supplied bracket contraption yet, but it looks reasonably sturdy.Pro's:Small overall sizeVery high resolution screenGreat colour and brightnessPortableGood quality carry casePrice - £160 at time of review.Con's:Display port only, no HDMI - HDMI 2.1 would have been nice.Panels not as thin as it could be owing to the bump on the back for the active circuitsNo mechanical mounting points (A tripod screw would have been nice)

I am very happy with the screen
I am very happy with the screen. Although it won't work with my computer cause it doesn't have any of the connection port that works with the it. At the time of ordering it, my laptop was in service do could not check.Anyway I gave it to my brother who has an Apple laptop, just when he needed something as his screen is playing up after dropping his laptop. He loved its.Seeing the use of it with his computer proves to me that it wasn't a lose.If they manage to make it work with hdmi I will buy it in an heartbeat.

Fantastic addition to laptop
Really great addition to my Dell XPS 13. I find the extra screen is incredibly helpful when writing, or working on graphics and DTP projects or displaying projects at conventions or during games sessions. I can't wait for PackedPixels to release their official USB-C adaptor, but so far I have it happily working using this USB-C to mini-DP adaptor https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06W53PXRB/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1 . My only slight comment is that he clip on stands compress the screen slightly causing some whitening so I am using a tablet stand for when the screen is not attached to my main laptop screen using the handy supplied clips (which do not compress the screen).

Satisfied customer
Really happy with this product. Arrived promptly and securely packaged. Comes with protective wallet that is large enough to carry the monitor, its cables and the holster. Quick and easy to set up: the monitor was working within minutes of unpacking it. Great resolution.

A great addition to a laptop.
Worked out of the box with my Macbook Pro. No adapters or extra bits of wire needed. Really clear retina screen of similar quality to my Macbook. Has made my work so much easier.

Very good
Very good product. Highest resolution makes everything look small but it is very convenient to have an extra portable screen.

Packed with Goodness!!!!
The media could not be loaded. I was ‘umming’ and ‘ahhing’ for weeks, as to which portable monitor to purchase. I needed a small, slim, USB powered monitor for my home studio and mobile use. I primarily use Logic Pro X for making music, so a smaller second screen would be perfect as a mixer/plugin window. I wanted a monitor with good construction and great resolution at a budget price. I looked at all the available options out there. Apart from having HDMI input, which would have been useful, no monitors seemed to fit the bill. Then I stumbled across Packed Pixels (way down in the Amazon listings). I found out that, this was a UK crowd funded product, I knew nothing about. I went to the website to investigate, and I liked what I saw. The monitor features a 9.7” IPS display with a resolution of 2048x1536. It is USB powered and connectivity is via DisplayPort only (NO HDMI). You can connect into any Thunderbolt/ DisplayPort enabled laptop or computer. The unique selling point of this monitor, is that you can bring your “multi-screen desktop experience” out on the road. It shipped with a mounting bracket, which enables you to hook it on the side of a laptop (see my video). I thought this was a fantastic idea, and I ended up buying it direct from the website, only because it was cheaper than Amazon. It arrived well packaged and construction was great. It shipped with all the cables, you need to get started. I tested it, with my 2011 MacBook Pro, it worked perfectly (though I would advise 3rd party drivers to adjust the resolution). I also tested it with my 2012 Mac Mini and Surface Pro 3. Again it worked perfectly. Display link drivers were automatically installed on my Windows 8.1 SP3.I intend to use this screen with my Satechi R1 Multi-Angle hinge stand, but there is a desk stand included. I also tested it with my 2012 Mac Mini and Surface Pro 3. Again it worked perfectly. In conclusion, I love it! It works great for my needs.... Satechi R1 Multi-Angle Hinge Holder Portable Stand for Tablets 7-10 inch, E-readers and Smartphones, Cast Aluminium Body, Compatible for Apple iPads iPad Air, iPad Mini / New iPad Mini, iPhone 6, 5S 5C 5 4S 4; Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Tab 3 Tab 4 , Note 8.0 10.1, S5, S4, S3, S2,Galaxy S4 S5; Google Nexus 4,7,10; Asus EeePad Transformer, New HTC One (M8),Lenovo Tab
