Looks brilliant and writes smoothly.
Happy with the purchase. Pen writes very well in terms of nib. The pen looks and feel superior quality.

Beautiful, quality fountain pen.
Great quality pen for the price I paid .Comes with a single blue cartridge ,but I like the choice to use different coloured inks. I therefore bought a Waterman converter . The nib is a pleasure to use ,it's smooth with excellent ink flow .I highly recommend it at this price.

Beautiful writing instrument. I was expecting resin for the price tag, but its brass. It is quite a small pen. But writing posted the balance is perfect. Zero line variation, but in my opinion you're punishing you're fountain pens if that's what you want.

I love it
It's a beautiful thing. Very well made and a joy to use. I opted for a fine nib because my writing is quite small. Now I am finding as many opportunities to write anything, just so that I can use it.

Very stiff nib, good looking pen.
I'll keep the pen as I paid a lot less that normal retail price, and I will enjoy writing with it from time to time. This is however not my first choice or recommendation, esp. for first fountain pen. The nib is very stiff, and works for deliberate style of writing. Works better with wet inks as this is rather dry pen. I bought mine because I really love the asthetics of this pen, but it is only ok writer, and I would choose many other pens over this to write a letter, unless I want to impress. Any recommendations from me? Chinese fountain pens (metal ones), Pilot fountain pens or this one if yoy know that you like very stiff nibs. Cap posts very nacely, clicks-on the ring at the back of the pen like it does when you recap the pen - neat design feature.

Just loved it
I just loved it. Yes, quite pricey, but I think it will going to be my friend for longtime. Excellent writing experience with elegance. I got another silver waterman hemisphere pen for a while. This black one slightly bigger in size, but got a nice grip. Would highly recommend it.

The outside card outside box is grubby and marked. The blue display box badly sellotaped on the outside and the cream faux suede on the inside was grey and dirty. The whole impression is that this is either second hand or ex-display but was sold as new. Very disappointing.

Disappointed
I was so excited to buy a new pen with money I’d received as a gift. Pen looks lovely but is not a smooth writer. I like a pen to flow and not inhibit my writing. This one keeps stopping at the beginning of a new word so I have to stop and go over the faint mark it sometimes makes. I’ve gone back to using the ball pen, I’m really disappointed.

Good quality. Fast delivery. But gift box was dirty so needed to clean it up

My 1st fountain pen after calligraphy art classes back when I was a teenager. How it well writes surprised me. The Waterman Expert is very well-balanced when posted, and writes exceptionally smooth. Fine nib looks like between 0.5-0.6mm on basic A5 A’zone Notebook Paper (Ruled). Glides across an A5 Muji Notebook (Blank). If you are looking for a nice fountain pen and don’t want to break the bank, the Expert 3 should be on your list. It takes Long Standard International cartridges too.

I've had it only a few weeks, and already this beautiful pen has joined the Waterman Carene on my desk as a beloved favorite that I reach for often. It's my fifth Waterman fountain pen, and it has everything I love about the others, namely the super smooth and lusciously wet nib. It may be a fine nib, but it definitely doesn't write like most fine nibs. The ink flow is generous without being a gusher, and always ready to go even if I don't write with it a few days. Never any hard starts or skips. No nib creep, either. Like their inks, the mid- and higher-end Waterman pens like this one are always well-behaved in their writing. The pen is on the hefty side, but never uncomfortable or heavy to the touch, although people used to lighter pens like, say, a TWSBI Eco may find it tiring at first. After a while, though, you don't notice the weight. Posted or not, it's always perfectly balanced in the hand, which helps more than anything with reducing hand fatigue. Because it has such classic, classy looks, this is the kind of pen you can proudly give someone for a promotion or graduation, and it can last a lifetime despite everyday usage, as long as you maintain it properly. This is the brand I recommend most often for people who don't know fountain pens well. I have never had a bad Waterman experience. I'm sure it's possible to have one, no company doesn't put out some boo-boos, but I have yet to get one from Waterman. As long as that continues, I will continue to assure everyone that the chances of a great writing experience with a Waterman is higher than with most companies, and you don't have to break the bank for it, either. Sure, this pen can be on the pricey side compared to some pens, but compared to other luxury brands? Watermans are downright bargains in comparison to several brands that don't necessarily write any better.
